Youth To The People is well known for its best-selling cleanser, the Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser (reviewed here), so it was only a matter of time before brand added another cleanser to its ranks. Released last fall, the Superfruit Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Vitamin C + Papaya (C$53 for 150ml) is a "gentle exfoliating cleanser with fruit enzymes and acids that brighten and boost cellular skin renewal, leaving the skin smooth, soft, and radiant". Youth To The People | Superfruit Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser

Packaged in a sturdy glass bottle with a pump dispenser, the Youth To The People Superfruit Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser is a gel cleanser formulated with papaya, ginger root, yerba mate, vitamin Cg, AHAs (glycolic acid, lactic acid, phytic acid) and BHA (salicylic acid) to address concerns such as dark spots, pore congestion, and uneven surface. With a light fruity scent, the Superfruit Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser has a thicker, almost creamy, gel-like consistency that produces a low-foam lather. The formulation is not stinging or irritating and washes off nicely without stripping or drying out the skin.

I have not noticed a significant brightening or smoothing effect but I also use a lot of other active products in my skincare routine so the cleanser's effect may not be as pronounced. Additionally, it's worth noting that this cleanser is quite pricy. For $53, you get 150ml of the Superfruit Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser but for the same price, you get 237ml of the Superfood Gentle Antioxidant Refillable Cleanser. Overall, though, this is a lovely and gentle exfoliating gel cleanser with a fairly unique consistency. It's definitely pricy but worth a try for those who don't mind splurging on their skincare routine.
