Lotus Aroma is a Canadian company offering natural skincare and wellness products. The brand reached out to me a while back to try out some of their products and I gladly agreed as I am always up for supporting Canadians especially since there aren't that many Canadian beauty brands around (RIP Bite Beauty). Focused on plant-based, clean ingredients that are vegan and cruelty-free, Lotus Aroma offers an extensive range of skincare, body care, and essential oil products available in stores and online at Shoppers Drug Mart. Lotus Aroma | Daily Hydrating Serum (C$54 for 30 ml):

Packaged in a plastic bottle topped with a pump dispenser, the Lotus Aroma Daily Hydrating Serum is formulated with soothing aloe juice, brightening orange flower water, antioxidant ectoin, and hydrating hyaluronic acid of two different molecular weights. With almost no discernable scent, the Daily Hydrating Serum has a runny gel texture. It absorbs very quickly, leaving behind no greasy or sticky residue. Additionally, the serum is instantly hydrating and layers well with other skincare products. I personally love that the formulation is free of silicones and drying alcohols.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Water, Aqua, Propanediol, Lactobacillus Ferment, Ectoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Lecithin, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Pullulan, Sclerotium Gum, Sodium Phytate, Silica, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Maltodextrin, Citric Acid.

Lotus Aroma | Vitamin C Night Serum (C$56 for 30 ml):

Next up is a nighttime serum formulated with aloe juice, witch hazel, vitamin C, AHA in the form of bilberry extract, BHA in the form of willow bark extract, and hyaluronic acid. Packaged in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser (just like the Daily Hydrating Serum), the Vitamin C Night Serum has a very pleasant citrus scent. The formulation is a runny gel with a noticeable orange tint. It goes on very nicely and absorbs quickly, leaving behind a light, tacky finish. The Vitamin C Night Serum definitely leaves the skin feeling a bit dry and taut (most likely due to the witch hazel) so it needs to be followed up quickly with a moisturizer. The formulation is pretty gentle so it should be suitable for those new to vitamin C, AHAs, and BHAs. However, if you are looking for more dramatic brightening or pore-refining benefits, I don't think this serum would be potent enough.

Lastly, I have here a lightweight moisturizer called the Lotus Aroma Daily Face Cream. Packaged in an airless pump bottle (yay!) and formulated with aloe juice, coconut oil, lotus extract, and hyaluronic acid, the Daily Face Cream has a light cream consistency with a pleasant citrus scent. Coconut oil can be comedogenic for some so if you are acne-prone or have oily skin, you may want to avoid this. With that said, the formulation is surprisingly non-greasy and leaves behind a very matte finish. One major problem for me, though, is that the Daily Face Cream pills like crazy. I tried using it on its own and layering it with different products but the problem persisted. So unless you can resist touching/rubbing your face all day, I would not recommend this moisturizer, especially when paired with makeup.
