COMMONLABS Vitamin C Brightening Sun Serum (C$23.99 for 51 ml). A unique two-in-one product, the COMMONLABS Vitamin C Brightening Sun Serum offers a sun protection of SPF50+ PA++++ and a brightening effect. To read my review of the formulation, click......

COMMONLABS | Vitamin C Brightening Sun Serum |
Housed in a very cute and minimalist bottle with an airless pump dispenser, the COMMONLABS Vitamin C Brightening Sun Serum is formulated with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, various fruit extracts (bergamot, grapefruit, lime, strawberry, seaberry), and pure vitamin (ascorbic acid). Also formulated with chemical sunscreen ingredients, the Vitamin C Brightening Sun Serum is essentially a vitamin C serum and sunscreen hybrid. The formulation is pretty interesting. With a light, almost-fluffy gel consistency, the serum has a light citrus fragrance. Initially, the serum looks a bit chunky and upon blending, there seem to be little bits of crystalline particles that have formed in the serum. Not sure if this is due to an unstable formulation but the application experience is obviously not ideal. The crystalline particles do fully blend out and disappear but no one wants chunky bits in their skincare.

COMMONLABS | Vitamin C Brightening Sun Serum |
The Vitamin C Brightening Sun Serum takes a few minutes to fully absorb and although it makes the skin look very healthy and glowy, there is a bit of an oily shine. When I wear this, I really can't pair it with a moisturizer as my skin ends up looking way too greasy, so I only pair this with another lightweight serum underneath. Overall, I'm a bit conflicted about this product. On one hand, the combination of SPF and a vitamin C serum seems like a match made in heaven, making me wonder why no one else has done this before. However, the noticeable crystalline particles in the formulation and the slightly greasy finish are big drawbacks. I can see myself finishing this whole bottle but it's not a product I would restock. However, if COMMONLABS slightly improves the formulation, I would definitely give it another try.
