Packaged in a simple but sturdy plastic jar, the Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Refreshing Mask is a soft mud mask formulated with glycerin and kaolin clay packed full of red bean particles. I was expecting the formulation to be quite scrubby but the red bean bits are surprisingly smooth and refined. There's some mechanical exfoliation but it is mostly a soft clay mask. The formulation has a subtle, natural scent and a thick, puddy consistency. It spreads easily on the skin and doesn't get hard or crumbly dry. With warm water and a soft face cloth, the mask removes easily, leaving behind zero residue. Overall, I feel ambivalent about the Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Refreshing Mask. It's quite gentle and pleasant but it didn't provide the level of exfoliation that I was expecting. I think it's a good product for normal to dry, sensitive skin but it's not something I will repurchase.
