Romand | Glasting Melting Balm in "07 Mauve Whip", "12 Veiled Rose", "13 Scotch Nude" & "14 Dear Apple": Review and Swatches
Not too long ago, I tried a couple of the very popular Glasting Melting Balms (C$13.99 for 3.5g) from Romand (stylized as Rom&nd) and instantly fell in love (see my initial review here). Therefore, I quickly purchased a few more shades, including some from the new Dusty on the Nude Collection. I've got reviews and swatches of these to share with you today. To read on, click......

Packaging:
The Glasting Melting Balm comes in a pearlescent white plastic tube with a translucent cap that matches the shade inside. There's a slight difference in the packaging design of the original shade range and the new Dusty on the Nude shades. The shade name is clearly labelled on the tube and the twisting mechanism is very precise. Overall, the packaging feels very fun and youthful but still well-made.

Formulation:
As mentioned in my initial review, the Romand Glasting Melting Balm is a very nourishing tinted lip balm Infused with jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter, and argan oil. The formulation is fairly pigmented, comparable to sheer lipsticks. With a lovely fruity scent, the formulation has a buttery smooth consistency that glides beautifully on the lips. The color is buildable but if you only apply a thin layer, you won't get a luscious shine, which is my favorite quality of the balm. The finish is moisturizing and lightweight. However, it does feel slightly tacky. The formulation will transfer with eating and drinking but it's longer lasting than most tinted balms I've tried. It's also worth noting that the new Dusty on the Nude shades (#10 to #15) do feel just a touch softer than the original shades (#01 to #09), making them a bit messier to apply. Below I'm reviewing one shade (#07 Mauve Whip) from the original release and three shades from the Dusty on the Nude Collection.

07 Mauve Whip: This is a very pretty mauve rose. Originally I could not decide between this shade and "06 Kaya Fig" (reviewed here). The two are kind of similar but "07 Mauve Whip" is more rosy while "06 Kaya Fig" is more nude. Out of all six shades that I own, "07 Mauve Whip" is hands down my favorite.

12 Veiled Rose: This is a lovely dusty rose. The color is a bit duller than I expected so I didn't love it as much as thought I would. Like I said in my previous review of the Romand Glasting Melting Balms, despite there being so many swatches online, it's really hard to get an accurate feel on these shades so it's best to try them in person if possible.

13 Scotch Nude: A beautiful nude butterscotch brown, this shade is definitely more pigmented than the others. Again, I thought this shade would be a bit brighter but it's quite brown. I can see this working very well for some skin tones but personally, I'm not a fan.

14 Dear Apple: Last but not least is this pretty orange-ish red. The color is not as dusty as the previous two shades, making it a bit fresher and more youthful.

Below I've put all six shades I own together so you can easily see how they compare with each other. Personally, I'm actually a bit disappointed with the three Dusty on the Nude shades (#12, #13, #14) just because I felt misled by the swatches online. It is worth mentioning that people swatch these differently. Some only use a sheer coat or do a more diffused look by blending it out from the center. Others may neutralize their lips first so their natural lip color does not show through as much. For my swatches, I apply a generous amount on bare lips. Ideally, it's best to try these in person instead of ordering only. However, my local retailers (ex. Oomomo) sell them at around C$14 when Stylevana offers them at below C$10 so there's more incentive to buy online. Overall, I'm still very pleased with the Romand Glasting Melting Balms. At the moment, they are definitely my favorite lip products.
