Youth To The People on the blog but granted, the brand hasn't released many products in the past year. The
Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask (C$70 for 59 ml), while not new, is one of the brand's bestsellers. I've been wanting to try the product for a long time and finally got the chance recently. So to read about this brightening sleeping mask, click......
Before I delve into the review, I just want to preface things by saying that based on the name of this product, I was totally under the impression that this is a hydrating, brightening face mask that you apply and wash off. However, the Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask is actually a sleeping mask used in lieu of a night cream. I clearly did not clue in that "dream mask" means sleeping mask, but it also didn't help that YTTP packaged it in the exact same packaging as their other wash-off masks.
Anyhow, the Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask is a nourishing, brightening night cream formulated with THD ascorbate, a highly stable, oil-soluble form of vitamin C that brightens the skin. The formulation also contains squalane and hyaluronic acid for hydration, along with an antioxidant-rich "superberry" complex of goji, acai, and maqui. The formulation is extremely thick and it does not easily absorb into the skin. Honestly, applying it almost felt like I was applying a thick cream mask intended to be removed after 10 or 15 minutes. Additionally, the formulation also created some micro-lather, which I absolutely despise. Personally, I'm not a fan of sleeping masks in general as I feel that they just don't absorb as well and tend to feel heavy and icky on the skin. Unfortunately, the Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask embodies all those characteristics, in addition to being a bit greasy and difficult to blend. It is indeed very hydrating and nourishing but for those with normal to oily skin, the product is simply too heavy. With that said, if you have dry to very dry skin, this may actually be a good night cream for you.
