Givenchy comes an expansion of the Le Rouge Interdit lipstick range. Available in 16 shades at Sephora and 21 shades at Holt Renfrew, the
Le Rouge Interdit Intense Silk Lipsticks ($52 for 3.4 g) boasts a silky, semi-matte finish with a hydrating and long-wearing color. I've got reviews and swatches of a few shades to share with you today. To read on, click......
Packaging:The Intense Silk Lipsticks is housed in the classic Le Rouge Interdit packaging updated with some minor changes. Instead of the edgy raised studs, the lipsticks are now adorned with the iconic 4G logos etched along the base. The leather-wrapped cap maintains the same luxurious feel which now can be enjoyed for longer thanks to the new refillable design (refills available separately).
Formulation:Infused with hyaluronic acid and prickly pear oil, the Le Rouge Interdit Intense Silk Lipsticks have a silky smooth texture packed with pigments. All three shades I swatched below are full-coverage in a few swipes and the finish has a natural, semi-matte sheen. The lightly scented formulation has minimal settling and feels very hydrating. The formulation definitely transfers with eating and drinking so the longevity is as expected for a semi-matte lipstick. Overall, this is a wonderful luxurious semi-matte lipstick. The price point is high but worth a splurge if you can find your perfect shade.
37 Rouge Graine: This is a classic warm red from Givenchy. The color is super rich and pigmented.
110 Beige Nu: A very soft petal pink, this shade has just a hint of beige that adds a lot of sophistication. The coverage is surprisingly good given how light the color is.
500 Brun Mocha: This is an interesting orange beige. It's not my usual pick but the color is pretty flattering. Again, as you can see in the swatches, the coverage is very smooth and even.
Availability:Givenchy is available in stores and online at
Sephora and Holt Renfrew.
