Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review. It's no secret at this point that I'm a die-hard
Glow Recipe fan and in my eyes, they can do no wrong (the
Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Sunscreen never happened in my book). So when I learned about the release of the new
Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye Gel Cream (C$46 for 15 ml), I was super excited. A sister to the Guava Vitamin C Dark Spot Treatment Serum (reviewed
here), the Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye Gel Cream promises to "reduce the look of dark circles, hydrate, and depuff the entire eye area". To read my thoughts on this new eye cream, click......
Housed in a small glass bottle that is essentially a mini version of the Guava Vitamin C Dark Spot Treatment Serum, the Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye Gel Cream is formulated with 10% slow-release, encapsulated vitamin C (made of five different vitamin C derivatives) for brightening, 3% niacinamide for evening the skin tone, caffeine for depuffing, and peptides for smoothing lines. Unlike most Glow Recipe products, the Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye Gel Cream is scent-free, making it less irritating for the eye area.
The formulation has a nice whipped cream texture that's thicker than your typical serum but lighter than your traditional eye cream. It blends beautifully around the eyes and leaves no sticky residue. Glow Recipe recommends the Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye Gel Cream for the daytime and their Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Cream for the nighttime but I think the Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye Gel Cream is just as sufficient as a nighttime eye cream. However, for winter months and for those with very dry skin, the formulation may not be as nourishing. After using the eye cream for a couple of weeks, I have noticed some improvements in the overall appearance of my eye area so I would definitely recommend it to those looking for a brightening eye cream. Also, I cannot express how much I love the pump dispenser, which I've not seen with any other eye creams. It's just so much easier to not have to dig my finger into a tiny jar! So there you have it, Glow Recipe does it again! I seriously cannot wait to see what the team comes up with next!
