Watier | Sublimessence High Brightening Vitamin C Serum: Review
It's been a long, long time since I received any product releases from Lise Watier so I was quite surprised when their new Sublimessence High Brightening Vitamin C Serum (C$88 for 38 ml) landed on my doorsteps. It also seems that Lise Watier recently rebranded itself so now it's simply called Watier, which I find a bit puzzling as the original name sounded great. Anyhow, I'm a sucker for a good vitamin C serum so let's take a look at this one......
Watier | Sublimessence High Brightening Vitamin C Serum: Review
Watier | Sublimessence High Brightening Vitamin C Serum
Housed in a very tall and slender glass bottle topped with a pump dispenser, the Watier Sublimessence High Brightening Vitamin C Serum is described as a "powerful illuminating serum" that reveals a "more radiant and even complexion". Formulated with 20% stabilized vitamin C, the serum also contains antioxidant-rich ferulic acid and Labrador tea extract, smoothing caviar lime extract, brightening white pine extract, and nourishing squalane. With a slightly citrusy, inoffensive chemical smell that reminds me of the Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Bright & Plump Moisturizer (reviewed here), the Sublimessence High Brightening Vitamin C Serum has a thin, runny consistency that easily spreads on the skin. The formulation absorbs pretty quickly and it leaves behind a slightly tacky residue that layers well with other skincare products. I did not experience any pilling or patching and I love that the formulation doesn't contain most of the icky ingredients (ex. drying alcohol, silicone) that clean skincare is steering away from.

Maybe I'm a bit extreme but when it comes to evaluating vitamin C serums, I believe that I should be able to see a noticeable difference after just one use if the formulation is potent enough. I'm happy to say that with the Watier Sublimessence High Brightening Vitamin C Serum, I noticed a brighter, more radiant complexion the night after my first try so it definitely stands toe to toe with some of my favorite vitamin C serums. My only critique of the product is probably the pricing, which is steep, especially considering that the bottle doesn't even contain a full 30 ml or product. However, I do feel that it's worth a splurge if you are looking for a solid vitamin C serum.
