Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links and the product featured was provided for review. It seems that nowadays, just about every brand has a dupe for the iconic Dior Lip Glow (reviewed
here). So naturally,
Guerlain also joined the race with the release of the new
KissKiss Bee Glow Lipstick Balm (C$50 for 3.2 g). Currently available in four shades, the KissKiss Bee Glow Lipstick Balm is described as a "creamy, tinted lip balm, infused with honey" and made with 98% natural-origin ingredients. Packaging:The KissKiss Bee Glow Lipstick Balm is housed in the classic KissKiss lipstick case. The chunky design has a shiny pale gold finish that's a bit of a fingerprint magnet. I personally would have preferred a sleeker, more compact case as this is definitely a lip product I like to keep on the go. Nevertheless, the packaging feels very classy and luxurious.
Formulation:Infused with soothing honey, hydrating hyaluronic acid, nourishing propolis, beeswax, and shea, the KissKiss Bee Glow Lipstick Balm has a slick and creamy consistency that glides beautifully on the lips. The formulation feels instantly hydrating and it visibly plumps the appearance of the lips. The shade "
258 Rose Glow" is a classic petal pink. The color appears quite soft at first but it will intensify to a brighter pink after adjusting to the pH of the lips. The finish has a flattering shine and even when the shine wears off, a pink stain remains.
Needlessly to say, the Guerlain KissKiss Bee Glow Lipstick Balm is a dupe for the Dior Lip Glow, along with similar products such as the Clé de Peau Lip Glorifier (reviewed
here), the Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto Lip Balm (reviewed
here), and the Mary Kay Intuitive pH Lip Balm (reviewed
here), to name just a few. As compared to the Dior Lip Glow, the Guerlain KissKiss Bee Glow Lipstick Balm has a slicker, less waxy consistency. This results in a more comfortable wear but the shine fades just a tiny bit quicker. So all in all, this is a great tinted lip balm. The pricing is steeper as compared to the Dior Lip Glow so I'm not sure I would recommend it over that. Nevertheless, if you are in the market for a luxury tinted balm, this is still worth checking out.
