Dior | Miss Dior Eau de Parfum |
The new Dior Miss Dior comes in an elegant rectangular glass bottle etched with the classic houndstooth pattern on the bottom. The bottle is made with 30% less glass as compared to its predecessor. The perfume has a clear acrylic cap adorned with the most exquisite ribbon which is actually woven in France with 346 threads. It has a delicate pearlescent color interwoven with twinkling metallic threads in pink, gold, and blue to reflect the vivid colors of the flowers represented by this fragrance. The perfume liquid is tinted a soft warm pink although I wish it was a more vivid pink as portrayed in all the promotional materials. Nevertheless, this is a visually impressive perfume. The design is so classy and feminine.
The Scent:
Dior | Miss Dior Eau de Parfum |
In addition to the centifolia rose, the star of the show, the Dior Miss Dior Eau de Parfum is a menagerie of floral notes with iris, peony, and lily of the valley. Unlike most fragrances nowadays, the scent does not have a light, fruity opening so I was immediately overwhelmed with a flower bomb of sweet floral notes. This quickly mellows and fuses with another sweet and warm blend of scents thanks to the vanilla, musk, and benzoin. To me, the Dior Miss Dior Eau de Parfum feels unfortunately one-dimensional. Despite having a good number of notes, the fragrance feels heady and overly sweet, lacking levity and freshness. Admittedly warm florals aren't my top category of perfumes but Miss Dior just feels too confined and old-fashioned. Unfortunately, I've never smelled the original Miss Dior so I can't make any comparisons but the 2020 Miss Dior Rose N'Roses Eau de Toilette (reviewed here) is much more up my alley with a fresher, more vibrant scent that still highlights the floral aspect.
Top Notes: Iris, Peony, Lily-of-the-Valley
