THE FACE SHOP | Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Foam Cleanser (C$11.99 for 150 ml):
Packaged in a simple squeeze tube, the Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Foam Cleanser is a lightweight gel cleanser formulated with aloe, cica, green tea, licorice, and a handful of other skin-loving herbal extracts. The cleanser has a slightly gloopy texture similar to fresh aloe and it has a soft aloe scent. The formulation feels super gentle yet it still produces a satisfying lather that leaves the skin supple and clean. Simply put, this is an all-around great cleanser at a great price. I 100% would recommend it if you are looking for a gentle, everyday, no-fuss cleanser.

THE FACE SHOP | Rice Water Bright Facial Massage Cream (C$34 for 200 ml):
Formulated with rice water ("the milky white water obtained from rinsing rice"), this is a face cream designed to moisturize and brighten the skin. I find the name a bit misleading as this is essentially a moisturizer made with mineral oil so the "massage" part feels more like a marketing tactic. Housed in a huge plastic jar, the Rice Water Bright Facial Massage Cream has a soft, calming scent (a mix of soapy coconut vanilla, maybe) and a light, easy to spread texture. The formulation feels instantly soothing on the skin but it leaves behind a noticeably greasy feeling (as is expected with petroleum-based skincare). The instructions suggest the removal of any excess product with a facial tissue (if you desire) but that sounds like an awful amount of work for me. Overall, this simply a mineral oil moisturizer. The "massage" part doesn't appeal to me as a) I can massage my face using any moisturizer and b) I really don't have the time for that level of self-care. Additionally, as someone with combination skin and congested pores, I tend to avoid mineral oil but if you struggle with dry skin, this could be a very affordable moisturizer for daily use.
