Tarte | Salt Lyfe Eyeshadow Palette: Review and Swatches

It's been a while since I tested new makeup so it felt wonderfully nostalgic to play with a fairly recently released eyeshadow palette from Tarte, a brand that seems to be churning out one palette after another. I'm not complaining though, because when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, variety is key so it's always good to have options, especially since Tarte eyeshadow formulation has remained consistently great and affordable over the years. Tarte | Salt Lyfe Eyeshadow Palette

Packaging:

The Salt Lyfe Eyeshadow Palette comes in a large but slim plastic palette with a circular design. Parts of the lid and the entire eyeshadow pan are adorned with a reflective gold finishing. At 1.8 g each, the eyeshadows are oversized which means this palette will last you a long, long time. There is no mirror on the underside of the palette but I don't really mind as I never use the mirrors inside an eyeshadow palette. Overall the packaging feels sleek and modern; the look is trendy but it doesn't feel cheap.

Tarte | Salt Lyfe Eyeshadow Palette

Formulation:

Infused with marine plant extract, vitamin E, and Amazonian clay, the Salt Lyfe Eyeshadow Palette features a mix of matte and shimmer neutrals in cool and warm tones. Tarte eyeshadows (with the exception of some extra mass-produced holiday releases, tsk tsk tsk) have always been very pigmented and buttery smooth and this palette is no different. Even the mattes feel silky and smooth with no patchiness or chalkiness. The shimmers are extremely pigmented and because none of them are super glittery, there are no annoying fall-outs. Out of all 12 shades, there are honestly no duds. If you are looking for a new go-to neutral palette, this is a perfect choice.

Pure Bliss: Matte yellow-beige.

R&R: Matte warm tan.

Destress: Matte plum brown.
