Lancôme comes a collection of "non-drying, semi-matte" liquid lipsticks that promise an "ultra-pigmented, lightweight yet long-lasting" wear. Available in 17 shades, the new
L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink (C$42 for 6 ml) may just be your new fave fall lip product. To read my review on the formulation and see some swatches of a few shades, click......
Packaging:The L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink comes in a chubby frosted lip gloss tube with a unique petal-shaped doe foot for a precise application. Both the base and the cap are adorned with contrasting gold elements, giving the packaging a very luxurious feel.
Formulation:
With an ultra-thin and lightweight liquid formulation, the L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink is very pigmented and full-coverage. The color spreads very evenly on the lips and sets to a semi-matte finish. Although not completely transfer-proof, the formulation is comfortable and lightly hydrating. There's minimal fading with light eating or drinking but you will have to re-apply after a meal. Therefore, if you are looking for a last-all-day, kiss-proof kind of liquid lipstick, the L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink is not for you. Additionally, it's worth noting that the formulation has a subtle floral fragrance and although its name suggests a staining effect, the colors don't leave behind much of a stain at all. See below for a detailed breakdown of the three shades I have here.
274 French Tea: A beautiful muted rose with a strong peachy undertone, this shade just screams fall. The pigmentation is top-notch as is with the other two shades.
525 French Bisou: This is a bold bright red. It's a daring but classic choice.
888 French Idol: Probably my fave of the three, French Idol is a slightly vampy red with a rosy undertone. It's a great alternative to your run-of-the-mill wine red.
So there you have it, the new L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink from Lancôme. I think this is a rather unique liquid lipstick designed for those that want both color and comfort. I personally would have preferred a longer-lasting wear but I feel that the ultra-light and breathable finish was a worthy trade-off.
