Packaging: Made with 63% less plastic, 37% less cardboard, and 40% recycled glass, the new packaging for the Lancôme Absolue The Serum, Rich Cream, and Soft Cream is now refillable. Designed with a simple twist-and-lock mechanism, the refills are super easy to replace. The Serum refill costs C$245, $45 less than buying another serum while the Soft Cream and Rich Cream refills cost C$212 each, $58 less than buying another cream. I think this refillable system is such a great idea as not only is it a great environmental initiative, but also a great way for devoted fans to save some money.
Lancôme | Absolue The Serum (C$290 for 30 ml or $245 for Refill Only):An anti-aging serum designed for "firmer, plumper, smoother" skin, the Absolue The Serum is formulated with rose extract for improving cell turnover and Pro-Xylane (a sugar molecule derived from beech trees) for increased firmness. With a slightly viscous gel texture, the soft champagne-colored serum is scattered with a fine, iridescent powder that disappears when blended. The floral scented serum spreads easily on the skin, absorbing nicely without leaving behind a sticky or heavy residue. In terms of ingredients, Absolue The Serum doesn't quite check all my boxes as it's high in both silicone and alcohol (fourth and fifth ingredients). Additionally, given how low the rose extracts rank on the list, it's hard to imagine just how big of a difference they actually make. With that said, The Serum provides a very luxurious user experience from the stunning packaging to the smooth texture and beautiful scent. For those looking for a luxury serum that provides a boost of hydration and some anti-aging action, it's worth checking out.

The formulation stays true to its name with a super soft and melty texture that's moisturizing but not heavy or greasy. Similar to the serum, the Soft Cream is unfortunately not silicone-free or alcohol-free. With that said, it layers nicely with Absolue The Serum and other skincare products with no patching or pilling. I actually quite enjoy this moisturizer despite its less than pristine ingredient list as the texture is truly extraordinary. For those with dry skin or living in a very cold and dry climate, a richer version of the cream (the Absolue Regenerating Rich Cream) is also available.
