Housed in a foaming pump bottle, this is an interesting oil cleanser designed for oily to normal skin. Formulated with vitamin B5 and aloe, the LXNEW Clean Soothing Whipped Oil Cleanser has a liquid consistency in the bottle. Once dispensed from the pump, the liquid turns into a dense foam that is intended to be massaged onto dry skin. The foam slowly turns into a slightly viscous oil texture which then lathers a bit when rinsed with water. The formulation rinses away completely, leaving behind no oily residue.
Isa Knox | LXNEW Clean Soothing Whipped Oil Cleanser |
I've tried a lot of cleansers in the past but this one is by far the most unique. The cleanser literally transforms from a liquid to a foam, and then to a liquid again, all the while providing a bit of lather. So in terms of user experience, this cleanser is very novel and intriguing. The formulation effectively removes most makeup and leaves the skin soft and clean. However, it does not completely remove waterproof makeup, which really surprises me given that it's called an "oil" cleanser. So for that reason, I would not recommend this to those looking for a traditional oil cleanser that will melt away all waterproof makeup. However, if you are looking for a fun and unique everyday cleanser, definitely give this a try. I promise that you've never tried anything like it before!

Isa Knox | LXNEW Clean 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleansing Balm (C$42 for 100 ml):
Formulated with bamboo powder and vitamin B5, this is a nourishing cleansing balm designed for all skin types. With a white, solid texture, the LXNEW Clean 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleansing Balm looks just like a traditional cleansing balm in the jar. The formulation's unique property becomes very apparent, however, when it's massaged onto the skin. Instead of melting smoothly like a standard cleansing balm, the 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleansing Balm pills into chunky threads. To be honest, I'm not sure if this is the intended effect or a formulation defect. Nevertheless, the odd pilling texture, not the light dusting of the bamboo powder, provides some gentle exfoliation. Oddly enough, this cleansing balm also does not completely remove waterproof makeup but it does wash away nicely without any oily residue. Overall, this is a really weird product; I personally think that the formulation (at least of the batch I got) needs some additional tinkering because the pilling texture just feels wrong. Unless the bamboo powder is the culprit of the pilling, a larger amount is also needed for some actual exfoliating action.
