As I've mentioned in the past, Biossance is one of my favorite skincare brands with a line-up of amazing products that never seem to disappoint. The brand is insanely underrated if you ask me, which is why I'm always excited to test out and share any new releases they have. I'm playing some catch-up as there have been a few new releases recently. So to learn more about the Squalane + Amino Aloe Gentle Cleanser (C$34), Biossance Squalane + BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner ($37), and Squalane + Elderberry Jelly Cleanser (C$37), click......
With a very lovely scent that reminds me of a healthy green juice, this is a super gentle gel cleanser formulated with calming aloe juice, pore-clearing amino acids, and anti-pollutant moringa extract. The cleanser comes in a simple pump bottle and it has a fairly light gel consistency that lathers into a light foam. The formulation truly feels very gentle and mild yet it leaves the skin feeling clean and soft. It won't tackle long-wearing, waterproof makeup but for everyday use, it's a really great option!

Formulated with willow bark extract containing natural BHAs, caviar lime extract containing natural AHAs, and hydrating sugarcane-derived squalane, this is an alcohol-free toner designed for all skin types. The toner comes in a glass bottle and it has a flat spout opening. The consistency is very watery and it spreads nicely on the skin, providing an instant boost of hydration without leaving any oily residue. As far as I can see from the ingredient list, the Squalane + BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner actually doesn't contain any salicylic acid. Instead, the toner has salicin (from willow bark extract) and betaine salicylate, both of which are milder alternatives to salicylic acid, making the toner perfect for sensitive skin. Therefore, this toner is very gentle and non-drying, appropriate for daily use.

Packaged in a large squeeze tube, this is an interesting gel cleanser designed to remove waterproof makeup. Formulated with antioxidant-rich elderberry extract, nourishing prebiotic complex, and hydrating sugarcane-derived squalane, the Biossance Squalane + Elderberry Jelly Cleanser has a very viscous, almost sticky texture that needs to be applied onto dry skin. The formulation indeed dissolves waterproof makeup but unlike a lighter cleansing oil, the process takes quite a while so there's a lot of rubbing. I think it took me a good minute or two of thoroughly massaging my eye area until I was able to remove all of my waterproof mascara, which honestly feels way too long. The cleanser emulsifies with warm water into a liquid, milky texture with a slight lather and it rinses off leaving the skin feeling slightly slippery. The cleanser is definitely gentle and non-irritating but I feel that it's not very efficient, at least at removing waterproof makeup. Additionally, I almost feel that I have to go back with a second cleanser because this one leaves a bit of a residue. Overall I'm not a fan of this cleanser. It's not quite an everyday gel cleanser but it's also not as effective as a cleansing oil. If you are looking for a good gel cleanser then try the Biossance Squalane + Amino Aloe Gentle Cleanser (see above) or the Squalane + Tea Tree Cleansing Gel (reviewed here). If you are looking for a makeup-removing cleanser, then try the Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil (reviewed here).
