Tarte so when I heard about the arrival of the world-famous Shape Tape family to Sephora Canada, I decided to check out a few things from the collection. In addition to the best-selling concealer, Shape Tape also offers a handful of long-wearing complexion products, including highlighters, a primer, a setting spray, and a setting powder. I will review and swatch the
Shape Tape Glow Wand, the
Shape Tape Glow Powder, and the
Shape Tape Setting Powder today. To read on, click......

Tarte | Shape Tape Glow Wand in "Alight" |
Tarte | Shape Tape Glow Wand (C$35 for 6 ml):Packaged in a lip gloss tube with a removable blending sponge for application on the go, the Shape Tape Glow Wand is a multi-use liquid brightener available in eight different shades. I have here "
Alight", an opalescent soft champagne. The formulation is creamy but lightweight and it blends beautifully to provide a sheer and subtle sheen. There are zero chunky glitters or shimmers and what you see below is actually a very heavy swatch. The brightener can be used under the eye (over concealer) for an instant wake-me-up, directly onto moisturized skin for a little glow, or dabbed on top of high points of the face as a natural highlighter. I really like the versatility of the product but I would only recommend it to those looking for a
very subtle brightening/highlighting liquid. If you prefer a more intense but still natural glow, then the Shape Tape Glow Powder (see below) is a better option.

Described as "golden hour in a powder", the Shape Tape Glow Powder is essentially a subtle baked powder highlighter housed in a simple plastic compact. I know Tarte isn't known for the fanciest packaging around but the Glow Powder compact feels very much like a drugstore compact (i.e. Milani, Essence). Given that the product retails for $38, I do expect a little more.

Tarte | Shape Tape Glow Powder in "Sunlit" |
The Shape Tape Glow Powder is available in three shades and I have here "
Sunlit", a beautiful opalescent champagne. The formulation is very smooth and silky. Similar to the Glow Wand, the Glow Powder has no chunky glitters or intense shimmers, providing only a natural, subtle glow. The powder is buildable so you can either go for a sheer, all-over glow or a slightly more targeted highlight. If you can overlook the subpar packaging, this is actually a really good highlighter. I would recommend it to those looking for a soft, flattering powder highlighter.

Tarte | Shape Tape Setting Powder in "Translucent" |
Tarte | Shape Tape Setting Powder (C$41 for 12 g):Last but certainly not least is the Shape Tape Setting Powder. Housed in a flip-cap jar fitted with a mesh sifter for mess control, the talc-based powder sets makeup, blurs pores, and removes shine. The formulation is nothing special; it gets the job done but there are also a hundred other similar setting powders on the market. With that said, I am a big fan of this travel-friendly, mess-free packaging that also includes a mirror and puff applicator. So for that reason, this version has a competitive edge over similar setting powders from other brands. I have here the "
Translucent" shade; a "Translucent Tan-Deep" shade is also available for darker skin tones.
