Upswing Extreme Longwear Liquid Eyeliner (C$33 for 2.5 ml) is a recent addition to the family. Described as an "ultra-pigmented" liquid eyeliner that "glides smoothly for precise, stress-free application and extreme long-wear", this is actually Bite's first-ever eyeliner. So how does it perform? Read my review to find out......
Packaging:The Bite Beauty Upswing Extreme Longwear Liquid Eyeliner comes in a shiny rose gold tube. The applicator has a flexible sponge tip that has a thin, tapered end but unfortunately, it is not fine enough to create sharp wings.
Formulation:Made with nourishing passionflower extract and fruit-derived pectin that ensures a smooth application, the Upswing Extreme Longwear Liquid Eyeliner has an ultra-pigmented formulation that's not too thick and not too thin. It glides nicely across the lid and dries down very quickly. In fact, I find that the formulation a bit too quick-drying at times as the ink on the sponge tip itself will dry out before I am done with perfecting my stroke. The eyeliner has a mostly matte finish but I find that it does get a bit of a "crusty" sheen if a few coats are layered onto of each other.
In terms of wear, the Upswing Extreme Longwear Liquid Eyeliner performs pretty well. Although not 100% waterproof, the formulation is mostly smudge-proof. There may be some minor smudging and flaking in high humidity but it mostly stays put until it's washed off. The formulation comes off easily with warm water and instead of leaving a streaky mess, it removes in little flakes. Overall this is a decent liquid eyeliner. I'm not a fan of the clumsy applicator but I do like the pigmented and long-wearing formulation. It actually reminds me a lot of the
Lancôme Grandiose Bendable Eyeliner (if anyone remembers that one), but without the wacky handle. If you don't usually go for a very thin or sharp wing, the Bite Beauty Upswing Extreme Longwear Liquid Eyeliner will do just fine. However, if you are like me and like a sharp, tapered cat eye, then it's best to find a liquid liner with a finer applicator.
