Guerlain | Holiday 2020 Meteorites Golden Bee Light Revealing Pearls of Powder (C$77 for 25 g):Packaged in an exquisite brushed gold jar embossed with a festive bee design, the Meteorites Golden Bee Light Revealing Pearls of Powder is a limited edition finishing powder that illuminates the skin with a subtle golden glow. The Meteorites pearls usually come with a nice powder puff but the Meteorites Golden Bee only comes with a very plain black sponge applicator. It's far from a dealbreaker as I usually use a brush with the powder but it's still a bit disappointing as the cute puffs have become such a quintessential part of the Meteorites experience.
The Meteorites Golden Bee pearl shades are identical to that of the Meteorites Pearl in "02 Light" (pink, white, champagne, lavender, green, and yellow), but with the addition of a new gold-colored pearl. The combination of pearls provides a translucent, blurring effect with a subtle but notable warm shimmer. The formulation is definitely not as shimmery as a highlighter but it's shimmery enough that I personally would not use it around my T-zone. However, depending on your skin type and makeup preference, the powder can be lightly dusted all over the face and decolletage for a subtle ethereal glow. As always, the Meteorite pearls are finely milled and silky smooth with a beautiful floral fragrance.
Guerlain | Holiday 2020 Golden Bee Rouge G Double Mirror Case (C$42) and Rouge G Lipstick (C$40 for 3.5 g):Two new Rouge G case and two new lipsticks shades are introduced as a part of this limited-edition collection. I have here the "
Golden Ruby" Rouge G Double Mirror Case, sold separately from the lipstick shade. With a sleek reflective silver finish that's embellished with gorgeous gold and red gemstones, the case opens to reveal two mirrors that aid with application on the go. The case feels super luxurious and well-made but it is prone to scratches and fingerprints. The Rouge G Lipstick shade I received is called "
N°32 Matte" and it is a beautiful bright red with a true matte finish. The formulation is smooth, decently pigmented, and non-drying. On the lipstick bullet, there is an adorable embossing of a bee in celebration of the collection theme. In terms of longevity, "N°32 Matte" fares pretty well. It's still prone to smudging and transferring but the color clings pretty well to the lips and will last through some light eating and drinking.
