Givenchy | Holiday 2020 Black to Light Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette (C$66 for 3 g):Housed in a sleek black square compact with the lid all decked out in a layer of black, silver, and red glitters, the Holiday 2020 Limited Edition Black to Light Palette features three glamorous eyeshadow shades. As you can see, the shadows are actually pressed into stars of different sizes, similar to what Givenchy had done
back in 2017. This design makes for a very collectible item but the smallest star is actually very difficult to dip into with a finger or brush and the palette becomes quite a mess after just one use due to all the shimmery fallouts.
The three shades included are a sparkly silvery white, a shimmery silver, and a soft gray with subtle silver shimmers. While the silver is creamy and pigmented, the other two shades aren't as great. The sparkly white is very messy and fall-out prone while the soft gray is rather sheer and patchy. Overall, this is not a great palette based on the formulation but I think many people may still want it for the packaging alone.
Givenchy | Holiday 2020 Prisme Libre Limited Edition Loose Powder (C$72 for 12 g):All dressed up in a sparkly lid similar to that of the Black to Light Palette, this limited edition Prisme Libre actually comes in the shade "
03 Voile Rosé", as opposed to the usual "01 Mousseline Pastel". This is a translucent loose setting powder consisting of four different shades: a cool pink, a milky pink, a pale beige, and a pastel peach. I always try to swatch the Prisme Libre powders but have never been able to successfully capture their subtlety so I just didn't bother this time. However, what I can say is that the "03 Voile Rosé" combination provides a slightly warmer, pinker hue but it's still intended for those with fair to light skin tones. As always, the powder is incredibly silky, lightweight, and finely-milled, suitable for refining moisturized skin or setting a liquid foundation.
Givenchy | Le Rouge Lipstick in "500 Enigmatic Red" (C$49 for 3.4 g):One of the three limited-edition lip products released, the Le Rouge Lipstick in "
500 Enigmatic Red" is a beautiful and unique vampy wine red scattered with iridescent golden-red shimmers. The formulation seemed a bit sheer when I first swatched it on the back of my hand but it actually applied perfectly fine on the lips. The smooth and creamy color has a luminous matte finish and it feels lightweight and non-drying.
Next up is this stunning deep red lipstick with a true matte finish. With a super pigmented formulation that clings nicely to the lips, the lipstick is intense and long-wearing. The color is definitely not what I would consider nourishing but it's also not too drying. If you love a good red lipstick, this is a must-have!
Givenchy | L'Interdit Lip Top Coat in "Sparkling Night" (C$38 for 6 ml):Last but not least is this sparkly lip gloss designed to be used alone on bare lips or applied as a topcoat over lipsticks. I'm not a big fan of the small brush applicator but the L'Interdit Lip Top Coat formulation is super nourishing and lightweight. "Sparkling Night" has a slightly tinted base packed with iridescent shimmers that shift between pink and gold and the finish is not even a bit sticky. The color looks very intimidating in the tube but it can easily be worn over bare lips for a hint of sparkles. And as you can see in the swatches below, the gloss adds new life to the Le Rouge Lipstick in "500 Enigmatic Red", turning a vampy wine red into a festive deep berry.
