Clé de Peau celebrates the magic and whimsy of Christmas with its limited-edition
Holiday 2020 The Enchanted Lake Collection. Offering beautifully packaged pieces adorned with fairytale illustrations, the collection is one of the most beautiful I've seen. I've got reviews and swatches of everything to share with you today. To read on, click......
Clé de Peau Beauté | Holiday 2020 Eye Color Quad in "321 Magnificent Plumage" (C$110 for 4.5 g):Adorned with a mysterious illustration of the Black Swan, the limited edition Eye Color Quad in "
321 Magnificent Plumage" features four shimmery powder shadows pressed with a delicate feather design. The eyeshadows have a silvery gold overspray but even when that wears off, the colors remain quite sparkly. There is a satin plum scattered with iridescent blue and silver shimmers, a soft lavender shimmer, a baby blue shimmer, and a sheer pearlescent sparkle. As you can see in the swatches below and as is expected with Clé de Peau eyeshadows, the formulation is very sheer, giving only a soft, ethereal touch of color. With that said, the shadows all have a very silky and smooth texture.
Clé de Peau Beauté | Holiday 2020 Luminizing Face Enhancer in "101 Moon Shimmer" (C$120 for 10 g):One of my personal favorites from Clé de Peau is the Luminizing Face Enhancer, which is a subtle and sophisticated pressed powder highlighter. A limited-edition shade called "
101 Moon Shimmer" is introduced as a part of this collection and it comes in a shiny golden compact topped with an illustration of a swan ballerina overlaid with a multi-faceted, jewel-like design. The powder is made up of several iridescent shades, including lavender, pearl, champagne, and blue. They blend to give the skin an angelic sheen. The formulation is shimmery but not over the top, so it can be used as a cheek or brow highlighter or dusted sparingly as an all-over luminizer.
Clé de Peau Beauté | Holiday 2020 Limited Edition The Serum (C$395 for 50 ml):
As a part of The Enchanted Lake Collection, Clé de Peau released limited-edition, specially packaged versions of its beloved La Crème and The Serum. I have here The Serum, which comes in the most stunning holographic bottle printed with an intricate artwork of swans in flight. I mean, even the box the serum comes in is a work of art. As The Serum is a skincare product that will require a longer review, I will dedicate a separate post to it, coming soon.
Clé de Peau Beauté | Holiday 2020 Lipstick Cashmere in "514 Enamoured" (C$80 for 4 g):Housed in a beautiful pearlescent white case, the limited-edition Lipstick Cashmere in "
514 Enamoured" is a soft watermelon pink. The formulation is creamy and lightweight but the pigmentation is a touch sheerer than expected. The finish has a soft satiny sheen. I noticed some minor creasing and settling and the color does fade with light eating and drinking.
Clé de Peau Beauté | Holiday 2020 Lip Glorifier in "513 Break of Dawn" (C$65 for 2.8 g):Packaged in a beautiful slim case with a mesmerizing ombre design, the Lip Glorifier in "
513 Break of Dawn" is a lightweight but nourishing tinted lip balm. The color looks quite vampy in the tube but when applied to the lips, it gives a translucent wash of berry pink. The Clé de Peau Lip Glorifier is similar to the Dior Lip Glow and the Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto; it's just one of those quick, easy to apply lip colors that you want to take with you everywhere. As expected, the balm fades easily with eating and drinking but even when the color and shine are gone, the lips are still left feeling nice and hydrated.
One of the cutest items from the collection is this Holiday Lipstick Mini Kit. With individually boxed mini-sized Clé de Peau Lipsticks (in "5 Camellia", "9 Silk Thread", and "13 Peach Stone") and Clé de Peau Lipstick Cashmeres (in "103 Legend" and "108 Entrapment"), the set can be gifted to one special person or split up between several friends. The mini lipstick packaging doesn't feel as luxurious as the full-sized versions as they are made of plastic instead of metal, but the set is still a great investment for those that want to try out a lot of different shades. I plan on gifting this beautiful set to my mom for Christmas so unfortunately, I won't be swatching the colors for y'all, sorry!
