Christophe Robin | Regenerating Hair Mask with Prickly Pear Seed Oil |
Housed in a simple plastic jar that comes in a nice cylindrical gift box that reminds me of a fancy candle, the Christophe Robin Regenerating Hair Mask is an intensive hair treatment formulated with rare prickly seed oil rich in antioxidants, amino acids, and omega fatty acids. Also infused with extracts of golden samphire flowers, the hair mask revives and protects pigments, making it perfect for color-treated hair. With a surprisingly lightweight texture, the Regenerating Hair Mask has a subtle powdery perfumy smell. Judging from the online reviews on Sephora, a lot of people have issues with the scent but I find it rather pleasant. The texture of the mask is not too viscous and it spreads easily onto the hair. The silicone-free formulation is super nourishing and smoothing yet it leaves behind no heavy residue. Even after one use, my hair feels so much softer and silkier. Overall, I'm in love with pretty much everything about this mask but the price. Nearing $100, this is an extremely pricy hair mask and for someone like me who has long, thick hair, one jar really won't last very long. However, if you want to treat yourself, it's definitely worth the investment!
Ingredients: Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Cetrimonium Chloride, Inula Crithmoides (Golden Samphire) Leaf/Flower Extract, Opuntia Ficus Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil, Behenyl/Stearyl Aminopropanediol Esters, Opuntia Ficus Indica (Prickly Pear) Fruit Extract, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citric Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Disodium Edta, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxycitronellal, Coumarin, Limonene, Caramel, Tocopherol, Evernia Prunastri (Oakmoss) Extract, Linalool, Geraniol.
Designed for both the hair and body, this is a rich solid balm formulated with shea butter, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, beeswax, prickly pear seed oil, and prickly pear fruit extract. With the same subtle perfume fragrance, the Multipurpose Regenerating Balm has a thick and luxurious texture, akin to that of a body butter. In fact, the formulation is rather difficult to apply evenly onto the hair. So unless you have very dry and curly hair and are used to applying butter directly onto the tips of your hair, the balm may be too heavy. With that said, the clean formulation is definitely a treat for any dry patches on the body or even the face.

Christophe Robin | Regenerating Hair Serum (C$68 for 50 ml):
The newest addition to the range is the Regenerating Hair Serum. Free of silicones and made with 94% natural-origin ingredients, this is a nourishing serum designed to smooth the hair and protect it from heat up to 440°F. Also formulated with prickly pear seed oil, the lightweight serum contains conditioning tucuma butter. With a scent similar to that of the hair mask and balm, the serum has a slightly viscous gel consistency but it spreads evenly through the hair without weighing it down. I use it on wet hair before blow-drying and the result is smooth, silky hair that looks shiny and healthy. Although this serum is still on the pricier side, I think it's a bit more economical than the hair mask as very little goes a long, long way. So if you were to invest in just one product from this range, I would recommend the Regenerating Hair Serum for sure!
