Housed in a beautiful glass bottle designed with a crystal-shaped indentation in its base, Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir boasts quite a few key ingredients. Niacinamide (5%) reduces the appearance of pores while snow lotus extract, resurrection plant extract, and polyglutamic acid (a more potent alternative to hyaluronic acid) maintain hydration. A proprietary blend of peptides (called Replexium) diminishes the appearance of wrinkles while Vitamin C and magnolia fruit extract boost radiance. Additionally, the serum contains a blend of 5 crystal powders (crystal quartz, rose quartz, ruby, amethyst, and moonstone) for their "piezoelectric, mood-reviving" properties. I don't really buy that last bit but I'm not against having powdered crystals in my serum, especially when they are absolutely undetectable.

With a slightly viscous liquid formulation, Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir is very lightweight and easy to apply. There's barely a scent and the formulation is instantly hydrating, leaving behind a plumped, non-greasy finish that layers well with other skincare and makeup. I appreciate the alcohol- and silicone-free formulation and the abundance of skin-loving ingredients. I've not experienced the most dramatic anti-aging results but the serum is definitely hydrating, refining, and brightening, giving the complexion a more youthful glow. For those reasons, I would recommend Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir to those looking for a lightweight, moisturizing serum great for daytime use under makeup!
