Youth Creator Age Knockdown Bomb Concentrated Anti-Aging Serum (C$80 for 50 ml). Housed in a unique looking oval-shaped pump bottle, the Youth Creator serum is formulated with an extensive list of herbal extracts (ex. oat, calendula, raspberry, licorice, horse chestnut, and the ever so popular cica). However, the three highlighted ingredients are the soothing winter aster, water pennywort, and the elasticity-boosting cedrol (a component of cedarwood oil). Interestingly, I can't seem to find either winter aster or water pennywort on the long list of ingredients so I'm not sure if these plants have different common names that make them hard to match up with their scientific name. Nevertheless, if Belif says they are in the ingredients, then I guess I better believe (terrible joke, I know).
With a subtle and pleasant citrus scent, the Youth Creator serum has a fairly viscous gel texture that feels more like a light moisturizer than a serum. It feels a bit sticky at first but applies nicely on the skin. Because of the thicker texture, the serum doesn't spread as easily as a more watery serum so I do need at least 2 to 3 pumps to cover my entire face. However, the finish of the serum is not at all sticky and the formulation feels lightweight and comfortable. Although I'm not a big fan of the silicones used in the ingredients, the serum doesn't have that typical silicone slip and layers well with no pilling or patching. The Youth Creator formulation isn't particularly hydrating but it does make the skin feel more firm. My skin looks more plumped and youthful after waking up in the morning so the Youth Creator definitely stands to its claims. Overall, this is a pretty nice serum. Although it doesn't beat my personal favorite
Hungarian Water Essence from Belif, it's a close contender. I would certainly recommend it to those struggling with a loss of firmness or elasticity!
