Givenchy has brought back the
Le Rouge Deep Velvet Lipstick (C$49 for 3.4 g), now available in ten gorgeous shades. Described as a "highly pigmented, powdery matte-finish lipstick that is encased in red velvet", Le Rouge Deep Velvet promises up to 12 hours of weightless wear. I've got reviews and swatches of a few shades to share with you today. To read on, click......
Packaging:
Le Rouge Deep Velvet comes in a shiny silver lipstick case wrapped with a strip of red velvet. The velvet on the packaging is a bit of a dust magnet so I wouldn't recommend just throwing it carelessly into a purse when you are on the go. The lipstick bullet has a subtle textured finish and the 4 G Givenchy Logo is pressed onto the side of the lipstick.
Formulation:Infused with mango butter, the Le Rouge Deep Velvet Matte Lipstick has a super pigmented and extremely creamy formulation that glides smoothly on the lips. Usually, a creamy matte formulation translates to a satin finish at best but the Le Rouge Deep Velvet has a pretty matte finish that's surprisingly comfortable and non-drying. The finish is still prone to smudging and transferring but because the lipstick is so pigmented, the color is quite long-lasting.
12 Nude Rosé: A soft rose nude, this is a light warm pink that's very girly and flattering.
36 L'Interdit: This is your quintessential classic red. The color is intense and pigmented.
38 Grenat Fumé: Translating to "Smoked Garnet" in English, this is a unique muted merlot red. The color is vampy but still wearable.
Availability:Givenchy is available in stores and online at
Sephora and Holt Renfrew.
