Packaging:The Yaysayer Plumping Lip Gloss comes in a unique clear acrylic lipgloss tube. Instead of a doe-foot applicator, the gloss dispenses from a slanted silicone tip with a twist-up motion of the tube. The packaging is definitely innovative and hygienic but I find it tricky to apply the gloss evenly with the silicone tip, which is rather firm and unforgiving. Personally, I would have preferred a traditional doe-foot.
Formulation:With a sweet cinnamon scent, the Yaysayer Plumping Lip Gloss feels quite lightweight and hydrating. The coverage is pretty sheer for all three shades I have here and the finish just a touch sticky. The formulation is not plumping per se but it does make the lips look more full and nourished. The majority of the shades contain shimmers, which are not gritty or chunky. In terms of wear, these are on par with your typical lip gloss; transferring and fading are expected with eating and drinking. Overall, I think these are perfectly fine lip glosses for those that want a little bit of color and sparkle. The clean ingredient list is a big plus but with the non-conventional packaging, these are not what I would consider must-haves.
Sugar Drizzle: This is a translucent gloss scattered with golden shimmer flecks. The shade can be worn on its own or paired with a bold lipstick.
Rose Meringue: This is a pretty sheer rose packed with iridescent pink/gold shimmers. It is a very flattering everyday shade.
Raspberry Swirl: A sheer cool-tone pink with iridescent pink and blue shimmers, this shade is sheerer and softer than it appears in the tube. It's a fun and summery color that's still appropriate for everyday wear.
