As I play catch-up here on the blog, I wanted to visit a couple of new products
Givenchy released earlier this year. First up is the
Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm (C$44). Inspired by the brand's iconic
Le Rouge Perfecto Balm and the updated
Le Rose Perfecto Balm, this is a lightweight lip gloss that adds a touch of color and glow to the lips while maintaining comfort and hydration. Next up is

Available in five color schemes, the Le 9 De Givenchy Eyeshadow Palette is a nine-shade palette offering complementary colors in matte, satin, glitter, and metallic finishes. The palette is housed in a sleek black compact and it comes with two mini brushes that can be connected to form a longer, dual-ended applicator for easy application.
Givenchy eyeshadow palettes have been quite hit and miss in the past and the Le 9 De Givenchy Eyeshadow Palette definitely fits in that category. Generally speaking, all of the metallic shades are very creamy and pigmented while the matte and satins are silky but sheer. Each palette also contains a glitter topper that's very sheer and not super buildable. "
Le 9.03" is the purple-themed palette pictured above. It offers a wearable range of browns, burgundies, and plums. The standout shade is of course the bright magenta-purple. Unfortunately, the bold color does translate with the same intensity when actually applied onto the skin.
Next up is "
Le 9.01", which contains a nice mix of warm neutrals. The stand out shade are the matte rosy burgundy and the metallic coppery gold; the former is sheer and patchy while the latter is creamy and pigmented. Overall, I found these palettes to be just okay. Compared to other luxury eyeshadow palettes at around the same price point (from Chanel and Dior, for example), the dollar per gram is pretty good. However, the pigmentation and performance of the shadows could be more consistent across the board. While the metallics are pigmented and creamy, the matte and satins are very lackluster.
Housed in an elegant lip gloss tube topped with a leather-wrapped cap, the Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm is formulated with shea butter, cranberry oil, and pink pepper extract. The range is available in nine shades and I have here "40 Purple Ride", a sheer shimmer-free purple that's surprisingly more wearable than it appears in the tube.
Despite the "liquid balm" description, this is essentially a lightweight, hydrating, and non-sticky lip gloss. The formulation has a sweet minty scent and it feels quite tingly on the lips. I don't think this or any of the tinted shades stain the lips but the shade "01 Perfect Pink", similar to the original Le Rouge Perfecto Balm (reviewed
here), contains eosin and will adjust to the pH of your lips. In terms of wear, the Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm performs just okay. It will fade and transfer with eating and drinking so re-application is needed to maintain color and shine.
