Clarins comes a brightening serum that harnesses the "oxygenating power" of acerola seeds and rose-myrtle to revive dull complexion and reveal brighter, radiant skin that glows from within. Free of silicones, drying alcohols, and other sensitizing ingredients, the
Bright Plus Advanced Brightening Dark Spot-Targeting Serum (C$92 for 30 ml) is suitable for all skin types. To read my review of this serum, click......
Packaged in a rather adorable glass bottle with rounded edges, the Clarins Bright Plus Serum dispenses from a glass plump dispenser. The formulation boasts two vitamin C rich ingredients (acerola cherry seed and rose myrtle) which help brighten the skin. A blend of other plant extracts (ex. sea lily, lady's mantle, elder tree) helps reduce dark spots caused by UV and pollution. The formulation has a light, milky texture with no discernable fragrance. Clarins says that one press of the pump provides just the right amount of serum for the entire face but I feel like I need at least one and a half because the serum absorbs rather quickly due to its "drier" texture. To clarify, the serum is not at all drying but because the it's not super runny, it doesn't provide as much coverage as your typical serum. The formulation doesn't leave behind any sticky or icky residue and it blends and layers well with oils, other serums, and moisturizers.
With any skincare products that promise brightening effects, it can take some time to see noticeable dark spot reduction so it's hard to evaluate just how well the product stands to its claims unless I've been using it for a long, long time. So when I evaluate these types of products, I'm generally not looking for a dramatic reduction of dark spots or blemishes but rather the overall effect on the complexion. With the Clarins Bright Plus Serum, I definitely see a healthier, more luminous complexion with consistent use. The effect is noticeable enough that I would definitely recommend it to those that want a brighter, more even skin tone. The only downside of this product is the higher price point. At C$92, this certainly is not the most expensive serum around but as mentioned above, because the formulation is on the "drier" side, I definitely feel the need to use more product than I normally would with another serum so the 30 ml volume may not go a long way.
