Released last year, the
Strawberry-C Brightening Serum from
Volition Beauty was one of my favorite serums thanks to its lovely texture and clean ingredients. So when I learnt that the brand has another serum in its repertoire, I was super excited to give it a try. Housed in a frosted glass bottle, the Snow Mushroom Water Serum dispenses from a glass dropper which conveniently refills itself each time the cap is twist shut (something I've actually never seen before in similarly packaged products). With a lightweight liquid texture that's slightly less viscous than the Volition Beauty Strawberry-C Brightening Serum, the serum has no discernable scent and spreads evenly on the skin.
Snow Mushroom extract provides a surge of hydration,
marine seawater minimizes shine and the appearance of pores,
watermelon and apple extracts brighten, and
lentil extract soothes the skin.
The formulation definitely provides a boost of hydration and thanks to the addition of argan oil, it's also lightly nourishing. If you have fairly oily skin like mine, the serum mixed with just a few drops of beauty oil (ex.
Volition Beauty Hibiscus Unspottable Correcting Oil) gives enough protection that I don't need to follow up with a moisturizer in the daytime. Needless to say, the formulation is silicone-free and alcohol-free; it layers and mixes well with creams, oils, and other serums, leaving behind no sticky residue, patching, or pilling. Overall, this another winner from Volition Beauty! The sleek and ingenious packaging coupled with the high-quality and lightweight formulation is a win-win!
