Packaging:
Housed in the original Juicy Tubes squeezable tube, the lip gloss dispenses from a slanted plastic applicator with a tiny spout opening. Although the slanted tip allows for a convenient application on the go, it's quite wide and chunky, making it tricky to spread to the corner of the mouth without overapplying. I personally would have appreciated an updated packaging with a smaller slanted doe-foot applicator.
Formulation:
I've never been a big fan of lip glosses so I was never on the Juicy Tubes bandwagon. However, the iconic squeeze tube packaging and the colorful translucent shades definitely bring me back in time. Infused with vitamin E, the Juicy Tubes have a fairly thick and cushiony consistency that's surprisingly non-tacky. Interestingly, however, the gloss isn't super shiny so I was surprised at how much is needed to create a high-shine effect. Therefore, the finish ends up feeling a bit heavy so if you don't love the feeling of having products on your lips, you probably won't enjoy these. With that said, the formulation is hydrating and nourishing so even when it wears off, it doesn't make the lips feel dry. It's also worth noting that the Juicy Tubes are scented (some vanilla, some floral, and some fruity). I find the scents quite fun but if you are sensitive to fragrances, you may want to steer clear. 01 Pure: This is a clear lip gloss perfect for adding a touch of shine to bare lips or a base color. The subtle scent is sweet and floral.
04 Miracle: This is a very sheer baby pink packed with iridescent shimmers. It has a similar scent as that of "01 Pure".
07 Magic Spell: With a soft fruity floral scent, this is a very sheer rose packed with iridescent shimmers. This is my favorite of the five.
08 Tickled Pink: Appearing as a fairly intense rosy mauve in the tube, this shade applied super sheer, giving the lips a hint of pale baby pink. It has a fun watermelon scent.
10 Framboise Pop: Sparsely scattered with iridescent glitter particles, this is a super sheer gloss with just a hint of orange. It also has a summery watermelon scent.
As you can see, the Juicy Tubes are all very sheer so most of them appear quite similar to each other. I think they are easy to wear, fun, and flattering. If you are a fan of lip glosses, these are pretty much a must-have, both for the nostalgia factor and the cushiony, non-sticky formulation!
