New from
Mary Kay comes two color-changing lip balms. Designed to provide the lips with a natural tint of color and a moisturizing sheen, the
Intuitive pH Lip Balm (C$21 for 2.92 g) is only available for a limited time. In fact, from now until August 15th, 2020, Mary Kay will donate C$1 from the sales of each lip balm to the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation to support cancer research and efforts to end domestic violence against women in Canada. Packaging:
The Mary Kay Intuitive pH Lip Balm comes in a simple black plastic lipstick tube adorned with a fun paint stripe in pink. As the formulation is quite soft and melty, the balm has a blunt slanted tip to prevent breakage.

Mary Kay | Intuitive pH Lip Balm in "Pink" & "Berry" |
Formulation:
Made with vitamin E, nourishing oils, and a pH-sensitive stain that changes color upon contact with the lips, the Intuitive pH Lip Balm feels slick, buttery, and super comfortable on the lips. The balm is available two shades. "
Pink" appears as a translucent milky pink in the tube but turns to a brighter light pink on the lips. "
Berry" looks like a super vampy burgundy plum in the tube but turns to a much lighter berry pink when applied onto the lips. As the formulation is so soft and lightweight, the wear time is quite short. However, even when the balm fade, it leaves behind a nice pink tint to the lips.

Mary Kay | Intuitive pH Lip Balm in "Pink" |
Whether intended or not, the Mary Kay Intuitive pH Lip Balm is an obvious dupe of the iconic Dior Lip Glow (particularly the shades "001 Pink Glow" & "
006 Berry") so it's worth comparing the two. Although the effect they provide is quite similar, the Mary Kay Intuitive pH Lip Balm has a lighter, slicker formulation. I personally have gotten used to and therefore prefer the slightly waxier and longer-staying finish of the Dior Lip Glow, but some may actually enjoy the lighter, non-tacky feel of the Mary Kay Intuitive pH Lip Balms. In terms of price, the Mary Kay version is significantly cheaper at half the price, but it's worth noting that even cheaper drug store alternatives of similar pH adjusting lip balms are available.
