I was first introduced to
Derma E a couple years back at the London Drugs annual beauty event. Founded in Southern California, Derma E is a vegan, cruelty-free beauty brand known for its clean ingredients and affordable price. The brand recently sent over a couple products from its bestselling vitamin C collection. Since its surge in popularity a couple years back, vitamin C remains a key ingredient in my skincare routine so I'm always up for trying new vitamin C products. To read my reviews on the
Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel (C$29) and
Vitamin C Concentrated Serum (C$34), click......

Derma E | Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel |
Derma E | Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel (C$29 for 56 g):
An exfoliating, brightening mask, the Vitamin C Instant Raidance Citrus Facial Peel is formulated with orange peel puree, vitamin C, AHAs (glycolic acid and lactic acid), aloe extract, and hyaluronic acid. The formulation has a fairly viscous consistency, almost like a thick orange smoothie. There's a very refreshing and sweet scent, thanks to the orange peel, lemon oil, and orange oil. The mask is to be applied in a thin layer after cleansing. There's no stinging or tingling sensation and after 5 minutes, the mask sets slightly but washes off easily with warm water. The Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel definitely makes my skin feel very refreshed and brightened. It's not drying and irritating, so there's no redness after removal. Overall, this is a really lovely and very affordable vitamin C mask that gently exfoliates; it's a nice weekly treat for those looking for a boost of radiance!

Derma E | Vitamin C Concentrated Serum |
Derma E | Vitamin C Concentrated Serum (C$34 for 60 ml):
Formulated with vitamin C, aloe, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and green tea extract, the Vitamin C Concentrated Serum is a brightening and hydrating serum with a lightweight, quick-to absorb formulation. Derma E actually doesn't disclose the percentage of vitamin C contained in the formulation, but from the Q&A section on the product page, Derma E reveals that the amount is less than 15%. With many brands offering up to 20% vitamin C in their serum, the Derma E version definitely has a lower potency. However, it's hard to say just what percentage of vitamin C is actually optimal as I'm unsure how much the skin can actually absorb. Nevertheless, I really like this serum. The clean, silicone-free, alcohol-free formulation is lightly moisturizing. It blends smoothly with other serums and creams and layers well without pilling or patching. Additionally, the price point is great as compared to other vitamin C serums I've reviewed in the past so if you are on a budget, it's a great buy!
