More and more beauty brands are adopting a new philosophy these days and reformulating their products to rid of toxic or irritating ingredients. The same is true with hair care companies like Nexxus, which just released a brand new collection free of silicones, parabens, and dyes. Nexxus | Clean & Pure Invigorating Detox Scalp Scrub (C$19.90 for 318 g):
Packed with sugar crystals, this is a clarifying scalp scrub designed to remove build-up and moisturize the scalp. The formulation is also infused with moisturizing almond oil, clarifying sea salt, and Nexxus' PROTEINFUSION® blend of elastin protein and marine minerals. With a very grainy and viscous texture, the scrub definitely exfoliates but depending on the density and length of your hair, it's tricky to get the product right onto the scalp. I think I ended up with more scrub in my hair than on my scalp. Nevertheless, the scrub does provide some exfoliation and the formulation actually lathers a bit as well so it can be used in place of a shampoo. The scrub washes off easily and my hair does indeed feel lighter and more refreshed after use.

Made with no parabens, dyes, and silicones, the Clean & Pure Nourishing Detox Shampoo and Conditioner cleanse and nourish the hair without leaving behind any residue that weighs down your roots. Also made with fortifying elastic protein, replenishing marine minerals, and nourishing coconut oil, the duo has a very lovely fruity floral scent that really heightens the shampooing and conditioning experience. Although lightweight and clarifying, the shampoo and conditioner are not drying and leave the hair feeling smooth and silky.

Overall, this is a really lovely collection for those that want a clarifying and moisturizing hair range. Nexxus has never disappointed in the past but it's good knowing that with a cleaner formulation, they can still deliver the same level of performance!
