Earlier last year,
Dior revamped its Dior Forever foundation with a new and improved formulation and a new glow finish. Recently, the range was further expanded with the addition of the new
Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer (C$48 for 11 ml). I've been testing out the concealer along with the
Forever 24H Wear High Perfection Matte Foundation (C$68 for 30 ml) and the
Forever Skin Glow 24H Wear Radiant Foundation (C$68 for 30 ml) for the past couple of weeks and am finally ready to share my thoughts. To see some before after swatches and read my in-depth review, click......
Dior | Forever 24H Wear High Perfection Matte Foundation (C$68 CAD for 30 ml):
I tried the original Dior Forever foundation back in 2017 and found it to be a great medium coverage foundation with a natural finish (read my review
here). According to Dior, the updated formulation isn't drastically different from the original. Pansy extract is a notable new addition that provides a boost of hydration while rosehip extract (a long-time star ingredient of the Forever range) protects the skin from external aggressors. It's worth noting that the packaging also received a nice update with a much more elegant and minimalist logo embossing.
The SPF 35 formulation is lightweight but creamy and super easy to blend. The coverage remains highly buildable but I do find the finish to be more blurring and smoothing. I experienced less oxidation as compared to the original and while the finish is matte, it's not cakey or crease-prone. The foundation is very comfortable and there is minimal shine or settling. There is noticeable fading around the T-zone after a whole day of wear but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, I remain a fan of the Dior Forever foundation. The formulation really hasn't changed drastically so if you are a fan of the original, you will really enjoy the new Forever 24H Wear High Perfection Matte Foundation.
Dior | Forever Skin Glow 24H Wear Radiant Foundation (C$68 CAD for 30 ml):
A slight variation of the Dior Forever matte formulation, the Forever Skin Glow 24H Wear Radiant Foundation offers the same features but in a more glowy finish. As someone with oily, combination skin, words like "glowy" and "radiant" usually mean bad news but fortunately, the Forever Skin Glow formulation isn't super dewy. I would describe the finish as more satin than radiant but it still gives the skin a super health, glow-from-within kind of look. My boyfriend, who really isn't very perceptive when it comes to my makeup, even commented on my skin so that really says something.
In terms of wear, there isn't much difference either. The Forever Skin Glow formulation lasted just as well with minimal creasing, settling, and shine. There's definitely fading at the end of the day but things never get patchy or ugly. Personally, I think the Forever Skin Glow formulation is actually great for all skin types, oily and combination included. However, if you prefer a more matte finish, the Forever 24H Wear High Perfection Matte Foundation is the one to go with.
Dior | Forever Skin Correct Concealer (C$48 for 11 ml):
A new addition to the Dior Forever family is a pigmented multi-purpose concealer paired with a large doe-foot applicator. The formulation provides a good coverage but I would not describe it as a full-coverage, as suggested by Dior. With layering, however, the Forever Skin Correct Concealer will camouflage most discolorations and blemishes.
With a rich and creamy texture, the concealer applies smoothly and doesn't crease under the eyes. It works well over foundation but also blends and blurs beautifully on bare skin. On days when I don't want to bother with full foundation application, I will dab a little bit of concealer under my eyes and around my mouth and nose to cover up dark circles and redness. This formulation works very well for that purpose and it doesn't look cakey when topped with powder. In terms of wear, I found that the concealer doesn't last as long as the Dior Forever foundations (when worn over bare skin). There's noticeable shine after a few hours so it ultimately works best when paired with the Dior Forever foundation.
