Dermalogica | Biolumin-C Eye Serum: Review
Vitamin C remains one of the hottest skincare trends as we enter 2020 so it's no surprise that every other product being released focuses on the ingredient. Dermalogica expands its vitamin C family this year with the new Biolumin-C Eye Serum (C$98 for 14 ml). Described as a lightweight serum that delivers a "highly-bioavailable vitamin C complex", the Biolumin-C Eye Serum promises to brighten, hydrate, and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Housed in a pocket-sized squeeze tube, the Biolumin-C Eye Serum contains two forms of vitamin C that brighten and improve the skin by reducing discoloration and increasing collagen/elastin production. In addition to vitamin C, the serum contains several other key ingredients. Papain enzyme from papaya gently exfoliates, antioxidant-rich Arjun tree extract protects from pollutants and stressors, mushroom extracts and chia seed oil hydrates and nourishes, and peptides boost elasticity.

The serum has a very runny and lightweight texture that easily spreads and absorbs. There is a subtle citrus fragrance and the formulation doesn't leave behind any sticky or heavy residue. It layers well with other skincare products and can be worn under makeup with minimal patching. The formulation is nourishing and hydrating without feeling oily and it doesn't migrate and irritate the eyes. I've definitely noticed some temporary brightening effect so it's a great product for those that struggle with undereye discoloration. With that said, I do think that C$98 is quite expensive for an eye serum, especially when it's only 15 ml of product. However, the ingredient list is impressive and the results are as promised so this is definitely a worthy investment if your budget allows.
