Evalina Beauty. Founded by Vancouver-based media mogul Samantha Legge, Evalina Beauty is all about female empowerment through encouraging them to be their authentic selves. With portions of all proceeds supporting women and children in need, Evalina Beauty is paraben-free and cruelty-free. The brand currently offers a small range of everyday makeup items. Evalina Beauty | Dew Beauty Benefit Cream (C$44 for 50 ml):
Available in three shades, the Dew Beauty Benefit Cream is a sheer BB Cream or tinted moisturizer formulated with squalane, grapeseed oil, and vitamin E. The formulation appears fairly pigmented when you first squeeze it out of the tube but once blended onto the face, there's barely any coverage. The BB Cream provides a dewy, moisturizing finish but there's minimal smoothing effect.

The formulation works well as a base for powder foundations but I honestly don't think it performs much better than a regular lightweight moisturizer. The recently revamped Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector (reviewed
here) is a much superior alternative in my opinion. Although priced C$15 more, the Laura Mercier version provides a more smoothing effect when paired with a powder and it also has UV protection of SPF 30.

Evalina Beauty | Flawless Face Blending Sponge (C$20):
Designed for use with any powder, liquid, or cream products, this is a latex-free makeup sponge with a teardrop shape. Use dry for blending powders and use dampened for applying liquids. I'm not a makeup sponge expertise as I only use makeup brushes but the Evalina Flawless Face Blending Sponge feels softer than the likes of BeautyBlender. The design is also slightly different from the standard teardrop shape with a more bottom-heavy design.

Evalina Beauty | Shimmer Eyeshadow Stick (C$25 for 1.6 g each or C$65 for 3 x 1.6 g):
Available individually or as a trio, the Shimmer Eyeshadow Stick is a cream shadow packaged in a twist-up and retractable pencil. The formulation swatches quite smoothly on the back of the hand but it does tug a bit on the lids. Additionally, because the formulation has a slightly waxy finish, the colors take some effort to blend. With that said, the pigmentation is buildable so it's possible to customize the kind of look you want to achieve. Once set, however, the formulation is fairly smudge-proof so the shadows are long-lasting.

Currently, three shades of the Shimmer Eyeshadow Stick are available. "
Rose Gold" is a neutral golden brown, "
Pewter" is a grayish brown, and "
Stardust" is a pinkish champagne brown. All three shades have a shimmery finish and each can be worn its own as an all-over color or paired with each other for a neutral shimmery look.

Evalina Beauty | Precision Liquid Eyeliner (C$32 for 1.2 ml):
With a fine, tapered felt tip, the Evalina Precision Liquid Eyeliner is a satin-matte black liner with a very smooth and pigmented formulation. I have absolutely no complaints about the way the liner applies. The color is opaque in one swipe and while quick-drying, the formulation doesn't get crusty with layering and there's minimal creasing once set. Additionally, the felt tip is perfectly designed for achieving a fine flick.

With that said, the dealbreaker here is that the formulation is not waterproof. I know some don't mind a non-waterproof liquid eyeliner as it's easy to remove. However, because of my eye shape and the fact I live in a rainy city, smudging is a real problem so I need something waterproof.

| Evalina Beauty | Radiant Glaze Water-Based Highlighter |
Evalina Beauty | Radiant Glaze Water-Based Highlighter (C$39 for 5.8 ml):
Housed in a gorgeous clear acrylic tube topped with a rose-gold cap attached to a chubby doe-foot applicator, the Radiant Glaze Water-Based Highlighter is a gel highlighter formulated with jojoba, beeswax, mimosa, and sunflower wax. The formulation is super lightweight and packed to the brim with shimmers. And despite the waxes it contains, the texture is non-tacky and incredibly easy to blend.

Currently, the highlighter is only available in one shade but it is a very universal rose gold champagne. The formulation sets quickly but the finish is not smudge-proof so there's definitely fading by the end of the day. Additionally, as the highlighter is water-based, it's not resistant to sweat or humidity. Therefore, I would not recommend it for a wild night out.

Evalina Beauty | Moisturizing Lip Gloss (C$28.50 for 5 ml):
Available in two shades, this is a hydrating sheer gloss formulated with vitamin E and antioxidants. I'm honestly not a lip gloss fan so I don't have a lot of strong opinions here. The formulation feels pretty standard; it's lightweight, shiny, and not super sticky. "
Blossom" is a soft petal pink. The pigmentation is very sheer so it gives the lips just a hint of color.

Overall, I think this is a solid line-up. The packaging and aesthetic of the brand is pretty on-trend. However, the products are definitely more geared towards fans of natural beauty so longevity is lacking in some respect. Currently, my recommendations are the Radiant Glaze Water-Base Highlighter and the Precision Liquid Eyeliner (for those that don't mind a non-waterproof formulation). I will definitely be keeping an eye on what the brand will release next!
