Three years ago, Azzaro released the bold and flamboyant Wanted Eau de Toilette (reviewed here) for men and it received lots of accolades. So it was only a matter of time that we got a female version aptly named Wanted Girl Eau de Parfum ($97 CAD for 50 ml or $127 CAD for 80 ml). Boasting notes of fresh pomegranate and sweet dulce de leche, Wanted Girl is described as an explosive and delectable scent. I've got all the details and my review to share with you today. The Bottle:
As the original Azzaro Wanted bottle is inspired by a pistol cylinder, it only makes sense that the Wanted Girl Eau de Parfum draws inspirations from another type of weaponry. Shaped like a flower hand grenade, the clear glass bottle also features an engraved medallion cap, which actually isn't removable. To spray the fragrance, you can either press the center of the medallion cap or press down on the "trigger", which actually makes for a really cool and unique user experience. The perfume liquid has a soft tea-colored tint, perfectly matching that of the original Wanted for men.
The Scent:
Opening with a tart, mouth-watering splash of pomegranate, Azzaro Wanted Girl is a gorgeous floral gourmand. I'm not usually a fan of dessert-themed fragrances but Wanted Girl perfectly balances the sugary dulce de leche and vanilla tonka with the zing of ginger flower and pink pepper. The fragrance is definitely sweet but it still retains a breath of freshness. The wear time is average and as the fragrance mellows, it warms up with the vetiver base. Thankfully, the patchouli is quite subtle so for those that can't stand the note in a gourmand scent, Wanted Girl won't be a problem. I've read some reviews online suggesting that this scent is a bit generic but I actually believe quite the opposite. With the constant stream of citrus florals that fragrance houses push out on a monthly basis, Wanted Girl really stands out for me. If you want a fun and yummy gourmand scent that's not cloyingly sweet, definitely give this a try!
