Packaging:
The Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder Foundation comes in a sleek, fingerprint-resistant matte black compact split into two compartments. One side holds the powder foundation (11 g) while the other holds a dual-textured applicator. For a full coverage, use the sponge side and for a sheer coverage, use the white flocked side. I always use a brush to apply my powder so I could have done with a smaller palette with no applicator. However, for those that like to touch up their powder on the go, the applicator is useful.
Formulation:
Described as a full-coverage powder foundation with a matte, breathable finish, the Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder has a silky and finely-milled texture that's not super soft and crumbly. The pigmentation is indeed very good for a powder foundation and the finish is matte but natural. In terms of wear, the formulation is just average. Although it delays shine, the powder fades significantly after four to five hours when worn alone. However, when paired with a liquid foundation and a setting spray, things will last pretty much all day.
The Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder is offered in a whopping range of 30 shades and I have here "
Y225 Marble", a very light ivory with a warm undertone. As you can see in the swatches below, the shade is a pretty good match. The powder definitely blurs pores and it is not at all cakey like some fuller coverage powders can be. Overall, this is a lovely high-coverage powder foundation that ranks high on my list. If you have oily skin and love a good powder foundation, definitely give this a go!
