Biossance | Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial, Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask & Squalane + Omega Repair Cream: Review
Recently, I shared a review of the new Tea Tree Oil Collection from Biossance but since the brand has several other new releases, I wanted to dedicate another post to the brand. Using only clean ingredients free of SLS, SLES, parabens, mineral oil, and a whole list of other harmful ingredients, Biossance is fast becoming a favorite within the skincare community. Today, I have reviews of the Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial, Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask, and Squalane + Omega Repair Cream. To read all about them, click......
Biossance | Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial: Review
Biossance | Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial
Biossance | Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial ($85 CAD for 60 ml):
Formulated with glycolic, lactic, tartaric, and malic acids (different types of alpha hydroxy acids, aka AHAs) and naturally derived AHAs from bilberry, sugar cane, and sugar maple extracts, this is an exfoliating face mask designed to remove dead skin cells. With a thick, creamy texture, the mask also contains fine mineral spheres that boost the AHA chemical exfoliation with some physical exfoliation. The mask has no discernable smell and upon application, it feels quite tingly and slightly stingy on the skin, which leads me to believe that the formulation is actually quite concentrated. Therefore, if you are new to AHAs, I would recommend starting with a thin layer before your skin becomes acclimated. The mask does set slightly but it's easy to wash off with warm water. Because the formulation also contains squalane, the mask is not at all drying. My skin feels immediately smoother after use and I've noticed a decrease in pore congestion with regular use. Therefore, this is definitely a winner in my book. If you struggle with acne, whiteheads, or blackheads, then this mask is a must-try. The price is quite hefty but the jar contains 60 ml of product and a little goes a long way.

Biossance | Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask: Review
Biossance | Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask
Biossance | Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask ($58 CAD for 50 ml):
A new mask added to the Biossance repertoire, the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask is a brightening cream mask formulated with 10% vitamin C. With a slightly thick and tacky gel texture that turns milky and creamy after being massaged onto the skin, the mask also contains squalane, olive oil, ginseng. and rose oil. I didn't notice a strong scent but quite a few reviewers on Sephora stated that the mask smelled like roses. I like how the mask feels instantly soothing and hydrating on the skin; there is a transient warming sensation but the mask doesn't sting. After washing it off, my skin felt nourished and moisturized but I didn't actually notice a significant brightening effect. Therefore, although I enjoy the relaxing and comforting experience of the mask, I don't think it's the best vitamin C skincare product on the market, especially if your aim is a noticeably brighter complexion. I would recommend checking out a vitamin C based oil, serum, or moisturizer (ex. Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil, Jouviance Vitamin C Night Serum) for better, longer-lasting results.

Biossance | Squalane + Omega Repair Cream: Review
Biossance | Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
Biossance | Squalane + Omega Repair Crean ($75 CAD for 50 ml):
A rich moisturizer designed to "mimic and support skin's natural moisture barrier", the Squalane + Omega Repair Cream is formulated with squalane, shea butter, jojoba oil, sodium hyaluronate, and acai berry sterols. With a surprisingly light but creamy texture, the moisturizer is super nourishing and hydrating. The finish is fairly dewy but it's not overly greasy. It layers well under makeup but I personally find it a touch too heavy for the daytime due to my oily skin. However, the rich and hydrating formulation makes the cream a wonderful nighttime treat for the skin. Simply put, this is a great face cream for those looking for something a litter richer for the night time or winter time.
