Known for its affordable price range,
Sephora Collection offers a wide variety of trendy makeup and skincare products that are right on par in quality as some of the more expensive brands that Sephora carries. For Spring 2019, lots of new and exciting items have been added to the collection so I wanted to share a few of them (including the much talked about Rouge Lacquer) with you today. Sephora Collection | Matte Perfection Blush Duo in "01 Sweet Pea" ($20 CAD for 5 g):
Available in six shades, the Matte Perfection Blush Duo is a pigmented powder blush with a natural matte finish. The shade "
01 Sweet Pea" features a soft petal pink and a warm rosy pink that blends to provide a warm pink flush. The powder has a very silky and smooth texture and while the color has a hint of translucency, the pigmentation is very strong so a little goes a long way.
Sephora Collection | Rouge Lacquer in "14 Visionary" ($19 CAD for 3 g):
Formulated with shea butter, mango butter, vitamin E, and meadowsweet oil, Rouge Lacquer is surprisingly pigmented lipstick with a slick, ultra-nourishing balm-like texture. The finish has a beautiful, cushiony sheen and the color does not bleed or settle. A total of 30 shades are available and I have here "
14 Visionary", a warm rosy brown. While the lipstick is super hydrating, the wear is a bit lackluster. After a couple hours and only some light drinking, most of the color faded. However, the formulation is so lovely that I really don't mind re-applying.
Sephora Collection | Purifying Mud Mask ($21 CAD for 50 ml):
Essentially a rebranding of the
Purifying & Mattifying Mud Mask from Sephora Collection that I've tried several years ago, the Purifying Mud Mask is an amazing kaolin-based face mask that's formulated with a dash of clarifying zinc. With a thick and creamy texture that easily spreads on the skin, the mask is also gently exfoliating thanks to the bits of orange peel powder. It leaves the skin squeaky clean but not parched and because it is super quick-drying, you can see results under ten minutes!
Ingredients: Kaolin, Water, Glycerin, Bentonite, Capryloyl Glycine, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Powder, C10-18 Triglycerides, Fragrance, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Zinc PCA, O-Cymen-5-Ol, Copper PCA, Pentylene Glycol, Magnesium Aspartate + Zinc Gluconate + Copper Gluconate
Sephora Collection | Glow Peel Pads ($21 CAD for 60 Sheets):
Perfect for traveling or the lazy skincare enthusiast, the Glow Peel Pads are exfoliating toner pads infused with glycolic acid (derived from sugar cane), algae extract, and aloe juice. I like the textured surface of the cloth pads but it seems that they are barely dampened. There's simply not enough toner on each to cover the entire face so you may end up needing two or three. I actually ended up pouring another toner into the jar to rejuvenate the pads so I can't say that I recommend these.
Ingredients: Water, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Butylene Glycol, Levulinic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Perfume (Fragrance), Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Hydroxide, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citric Acid, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Potassium Sorbate
