New from
OPI comes a spring lineup filled with sheer, delicate colors. Offering an elegant array of dusty blues and baby pinks, the
Always Bare for You Collection not only complements the bride-to-be but also anyone looking for a hint of color for their nails. I've got reviews and swatches of all six new shades to share with you today. To read on, click......
Ring Bare-er:
This moody dusty blue is the first shade I tried from the collection. Even though this is a "sheer" collection, I was still pretty shocked by how sheer the formulation was. One coat provided barely a tint and because the finish was uneven, I had to go in with two more coats. The polish is also quite runny and although three coats provided a nice and sheer finish, the drying time was impossibly long.

Engage-meant to Be:
A very sheer gray, Engage-meant to Be applied evenly on its first coat so I left it as such for just a light wash of color. You can certainly apply additional coats for a more intense effect but the drying time would be significantly increased (up to ~30 minutes, conservatively speaking).

Baby, Take a Vow:
Next up is a pale milky baby pink. The formulation is fairly sheer and the application is quite patchy. I used two coats for the swatches below but I'm not 100% happy with how that turned out. Ideally, a third coat would really even things out but I didn't want to deal with the long wait time.

Bare My Soul:
A slightly peachy nude version of Always Bare for You, Bare My Soul is equally sheer and patchy. I had to use three coats for an even finish but with a more skillful application, you can probably get away with two coats.

Chiffon-d of You:
This is a dusty champagne frost with a comparatively more opaque formulation. However, the finish is very streaky. I used one coat for the swatches below.

Throw Me a Kiss:
Undoubtedly my favorite out of the six, Throw Me a Kiss is an iridescent pink shimmer suspended in a clear base. The shimmer distribution is phenomenal so one coat gives a nice and even finish.

I'm not generally not fond of sheer nail polishes and it's mostly due to their uneven and runny formulation. This collection from OPI suffers from similar issues so you either have to put up with a patchy finish or struggle with the painstakingly long drying time. Out of the six, the only shade I would recommend is "Throw Me A Kiss". Are you a fan of sheer nail polishes? Share with me in the comments below!
