COSRX | AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner: Review
After having been an author of a beauty blog for more than six years now, I really don't find much time (or interest) to read a lot of other beauty blogs but one of the few sites I frequent is The Skincare Edit. Michelle, the founder of the site, writes great in-depth skincare reviews and beauty trend analysis and one of her holy grail products is the COSRX Blackhead Power Liquid. So when I spotted it at one of the "fancier" Walmarts in town, I thought I'd give it a go. It turns out though, what I thought I bought was the Blackhead Power Liquid was actually the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner ($17 CAD for 150 ml). Nevertheless, I thought I'd share a review with you today as it still turned out to be a great toner. To read my thoughts, click......
COSRX | AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner: Review
COSRX | AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
Housed in a simple plastic bottle paired with a spray nozzle, the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is described as "an exfoliating fluid that effectively eliminates flakes and dull skin cells while preventing blackheads and whiteheads from forming". Formulated with willow bark water (a soothing ingredients that contains salicylic acid, a BHA), apple water (which contains malic acid, an AHA), betaine salicylate (a gentler version of BHA), and glycolic acid (another AHA), the toner has a clear, watery texture with no distinct fragrance. I like applying my toners with a cotton pad instead of spraying it directly on my face so the packaging is definitely a drawback. However, by removing the straw attached to the cap, I was able to make things a little less cumbersome.

Ingredients: Water, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Lactate, Glycolic Acid, Betaine Salicylate, Allantoin, Panthenol, Ethyl Hexanediol.

The formulation contains very little alcohol (a big plus in my book) and it feels gentle and soothing, with no stinging or irritation upon application. After having finished the whole bottle, I have noticed an improvement in my overall complexion. The formulation reduces congestion but it's gentle enough for daily use without causing dryness or flaking. I would definitely recommend it for those with oily, combination, or acne-prone skin. With that said, the COSRX Blackhead Power Liquid is still on my wishlist as I'm curious to how the two compares. Have you tried this or any other toners from COSRX? What's your go-to toner? I purchased the COSRX One Step Original Clear Pad in stores at Walmart in Canada but COSRX is available online at various retailers.
