To me, Charlotte Tilbury is all about glamor so it only makes sense that the newest collection from the brand celebrates just that. With the dazzling 12-shade The Icon Eyeshadow Palette ($85 CAD for 24g) and the high-shine Latex Love Long-Lasting Lip Gloss ($39 CAD for 4 ml), you can go full-glam with no effort at all. Charlotte Tilbury | The Icon Eyeshadow Palette ($85 CAD for 12 x 2g):
Inspired by the party life Charlotte experienced in Ibiza, The Icon Eyeshadow Palette features 12 glamorous shades designed to give your eyes an electric pop. The shadows are housed in a slim and sleek rose gold palette equipped with a very large mirror and the shades are grouped in trios that work harmoniously to create a complete look. The formulation has a thin, silky texture and the pigmentation is fairly consistent across the board. A few of the satin-mattes are just a touch sheer but they are buildable and easy to blend. See below for a breakdown of the four different looks.
The Icon Palette | Day Eyes:
This is rosy trio featuring a pearlescent pink shimmer with a golden sheen (Prime), a rose gold brown shimmer (Enhance), and a satin matte rosy brown (Smoke). Both the pearlescent pink and rosy gold brown are super silky and pigmented but the matte rosy brown is a bit sheer and patchy.
The Icon Palette | Date Eyes:
A warmer coppery trio, Date Eyes consists of a rich yellow gold shimmer (Prime), a rosy bronze shimmer (Enhance), and a bright copper shimmer (Smoke). All three shades are pigmented and even.
The Icon Palette | Diva Eyes:
A more muted gold trio, Diva Eyes consists of a sandy gold shimmer (Prime), a golden shimmery brown (Enhance), and a matte light warm brown (Smoke). The matte brown has similar issues as the rosy matte brown from the Day Eyes trio but the other two shades are rich and pigmented. This palette has an abundance of golds and browns but I think there's enough distinction between each to justify their inclusion.
The Icon Palette | Disco Eyes:
Last but not least is Disco Eyes. With a dramatically different color scheme that includes a dark mossy green shimmer (Prime), a deep denim blue shimmer (Enhance), and a satin matte black (Smoke), this trio definitely stands out from the rest. Whereas the other nine shades can be mixed and matched, the three colors here are less versatile and probably best used together. Lastly, while the black is a touch patchy, the other two shades are smooth and pigmented.
Charlotte Tilbury | Latex Love Long-Lasting Lip Gloss ($39 CAD for 4 ml):
Along with The Icon Eyeshadow Palette, Charlotte Tilbury released six shades of pigmented, full-coverage lip gloss with a seductive latex shine. I have here the shade "Studio 64", a very bright orange-based red. With a rather thick and tacky formulation, the Latex Love formulation is indeed very pigmented and shiny. I don't love how "heavy" the gloss feels on my lips but the finished look is undoubtly stunning.
Most reviews on Sephora seems to complain about Latex Love's scent and taste but I honestly had no issues. I didn't even notice the subtle essential oil-esque smell until I went back for a close sniff after reading the reviews. In terms of wear, these are pretty high maintenance. The color will easily transfer and smudge so regular touch-ups are required. Personally, I prefer an easy, fuss-free lip color so these are not my cup of tea. However, the effect is truly stunning so I wouldn't discount it for special occasions.
