As a long-time fan of the Pixi Glow Tonic, Glow Tonic To-Go, Glow Mud Cleanser, and Overnight Glow Serum (reviewed here and here), I was beyond excited to learn that Pixi is adding a new member to the Glow family! Promising instant brightening and hydration, the GLOW Glycolic Boost Brightening Infusion Sheet Mask ($14 CAD for 3) contains a concentrate of glycolic acid and herbal extracts. Available in sets of three, the GLOW Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask is made of a soft, high-quality fiber material well-soaked in a lightweight serum. I initially thought the sheet masks were simply drenched in the Pixi Glow Tonic toner but the serum formulation is more viscous and contains a slightly different combination of ingredients that include glycolic acid, extracts of red ginseng, aloe, green tea, cucumber, chestnut, and a handful of other botanical extracts. Once applied, the mask feels immediately soothing and hydrating. There was no tingling sensation but since I regularly use AHAs (ex. glycolic acid), I have developed a tolerance and those new to the ingredient may feel some stinging. Right after removal, my skin felt moisturized and looked more refreshed and radiant. The mask leaves a slightly tacky feeling but there's no palpable residue that will interfere with the application of other skincare or makeup items. Overall, this is a hydrating and gently exfoliating mask that renews the skin without causing any irritation. If you are new to AHAs and are looking for a quick boost of glow, definitely give it a go!
