For Spring 2019, Lise Watier has expanded its beloved Rouge Fondant Suprême Lipstick ($28 CAD for 3.8 g) collection with 20 brand new shades. Promising a hydrating wear and a luminous finish, the lipsticks are infused with the proprietary Lise Watier Labrador tea extract. I've picked four of my favorite shades from the new releases to share with you today. To read my reviews and see some swatches, click......
Packaging:
The Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Suprême is housed in a shiny gunmetal lipstick case with the brand logo subtly embossed along the side. The bullet has a straight-cut, slanted tip. There's nothing super fancy with the design but it feels sophisticated and well-made.
Formulation:
With a slick balmy texture, the Rouge Fondant Suprême is a semi-sheer lipstick that feels super lightweight and comfortable on the lips. Digging through my archives, I realized that although I've swatched many shades from the Rouge Intense Supreme and Rouge Gourmand range, I've only tried one color from this formulation before. Those looking for one-swipe color may be disappointed with the pigmentation but if you like a sheerer lipstick that's a little more forgiving during application, the Rouge Fondant Suprême is perfect. With the exception of the deeper shade "Janet", the coverage is buildable and even. The wear time is shade-dependent but touch-ups are needed after eating and drinking as the color easily transfers. See below for a break down of my personal picks from the new shade extension. One thing I do want to note is that the Rouge Fondant Suprême colors generally swatch quite differently than they appear in the tube so it's best to test them out in person (or check out swatches online) before buying.
Jeanne: This is a lovely petal pink that's a lot brighter and lighter than it appears in the tube. The color is sheer but buildable to a mostly full coverage.
Priscilla: A slightly deeper shade of pink as compared to Jeanne, Priscilla is more intense and pigmented.
Victoria: Perhaps my favorite of the four, Victoria appears as a dark brick red in the tube but actually applies as a unique, nuanced rosy red that's fun and fresh but still sophisticated and classy.
Janet: Last but not least is this pinkish wine red. The lipstick looks almost brown in the tube so I was pleasantly surprised by how it showed up on the lips. However, the formulation is a touch patchy. You can definitely see the unevenness in my swatches below but it is not as noticeable in person.
