For Spring 2019, CND is bringing us a gorgeous pastel collection inspired by the romantic Victorian era. Drawing inspirations from classic embroidery and paintings, the CND Sweet Escape offers five spring-friendly shades in the classic Vinylux formulation. I've got review and swatches to share with you today. To read on, click......
Soulmate:
A soft, delicate coral, Soulmate is slightly sheer and patchy. With two coats, I was able to get a mostly opaque coverage but I felt that I needed three for a completely opaque coverage. Had the formulation been a touch more pigmented, I would definitely recommend it.
Poetry:
My favorite shade from this collection, Poetry is a dusty mauve rose. The formulation is nicely pigmented and quick drying but the finish is a touch streaky. I could have gotten away with two coats but I used three just in case.
Antique:
An eggshell beige, Antique is decently pigmented for nude but I still needed three coats for a full and even coverage.
Coquette:
This is a pale lavender pink. The formulation was quite sheer and patchy so I actually ended up needing four coats for an even and opaque coverage.
Exquisite:
A pale baby yellow that just screams Easter, Exquisite is sheer and patchy. I used three coats for the swatches below.
Overall this collection left me a bit underwhelmed. Understandably, the formulation for softer colors tend to be a bit sheer but my expectations were set high as CND Vinylux tends to be nicely pigmented. If I were to choose, Soulmate and Poetry are the best of the five and are worth checking out as long as you don't mind applying multiple coats.
