Mary Kay Spring 2019 | Illuminating Drops |
Mary Kay | Spring 2019 Illuminating Drops ($25 CAD for 15 ml each):
Housed in a frosted glass bottle equipped with a convenient dropper dispenser, the Illuminating Drops can be applied directly over high points of the face for spot-highlighting or mixed with foundation for an all-over glow. The formulation is quite runny so I would recommend shaking the bottle vigorously before dispensing. All three shades are packed full of fine shimmers; they are easy to blend but the finish does not set completely so the highlighter is prone to fading and smudging.

Mary Kay Spring 2019 | Illuminating Drops in "Bronze Light", "Silver Sands" & "Golden Horizon" |
Bronze Light: This is a soft bronze-gold shimmer, perfect for those looking for a more sun-kissed glow.
Silver Sands: A pale rosy champagne, this shade is my favorite out of the three.
Golden Horizon: An icy champagne gold, Golden Horizon feels a bit too pale to be used on the cheeks but it does make for a flattering inner corner or brow bone highlight.

Mary Kay Spring 2019 | Perfect Palette (Unfilled) |
Mary Kay | Spring 2019 Perfect Palette ($25 CAD):
An unfilled palette designed to hold the Mary Kay Chromafusion cheek and eye color refills, the Spring 2019 Perfect Palette features a sleek and playful geometric rose design on the lid. The palette is sturdy and well-made and the magnetic inside can fit up to 4 cheek powders, 12 eyeshadows, or a combination of the two. Past unfilled compacts from Mary Kay had been quite pricey given their size so I'm happy to see that this palette is reasonably priced at $25, especially given the nice, limited edition design.

Mary Kay Spring 2019 | Matte Nude Lipsticks |
Mary Kay | Matte Nude Lipsticks ($20 CAD for 3.3 g):
For Fall 2018, Mary Kay released a handful of matte lipsticks (reviewed
here) and I found the formulation to be quite disappointing. For this season, the brand has three new nude colors and I can't say things have gotten much better. "
Baccio Nude" is a pale beige nude. The formulation is extremely chalky and patchy. I literally had to smooth out the finish with my fingertips to make it at least presentable for the lip swatches below. "
Bellissimo Nude" is a warm beige nude; slightly sheer but silky and non-chalky, this shade is just a bit better than the other two. Lastly, "
Perfetto Nude" is a peachy beige nude. This one is creamy and pigmented but the formulation is prone to sliding around on the lips, which makes for a patchy and uneven finish. Additionally, the shade is not what I would call a matte. Nude lipsticks, especially the matte variety, can be hard to perfect but these are far from the best I've tried.

Mary Kay Spring 2019 | Lip Tint |
Mary Kay | Spring 2019 Lip Tint ($21 CAD for 2.5 g each):
Packaged just like a coloring marker, the Mary Kay Lip Tint is an intense, weightless lip stain designed to provide a versatile lip look. Lightly dabbed for a just-bitten effect or layered evenly for an intense pout, the Lip Tint is available in three shades. Despite its name, "
Magenta Mirage" is a deep, rich blood red. "
Cayon Coral" is a fresh papaya orange and "
Desert Floral" is a vibrant berry wine. All three shades are nicely pigmented but because the formulation is water-based, the colors will easily run and bleed when they come in contact with water, at which point things will get messy and splotchy. You can use a balm or gloss to "seal" the color but the tint will still fade and bleed with eating and drinking. Overall, despite their stunning effect, the non-waterproof formulation makes the Mary Kay Lip Tint too high-maintenance and non-practical for everyday use.
