New from Givenchy comes a line of sheer lip colors call the Le Rose Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm ($45 CAD for 2.2 g). Inspired by Givenchy's bestselling Le Rouge Perfecto, the range combines the impact of a sheer lipstick and the care of a nourishing lip balm. Packaging:
The Givenchy Le Rose Perfecto comes in a tall and slim lipstick case identical to that of the bestselling Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto (reviewed here). Made of silver metal and adorned with sleek studs near the base, the packaging is wrapped in genuine nude pink leather. Needless to say, everything looks and feels super chic and luxurious.
Formulation:
Infused with shea butter and hyaluronic acid spheres that keep the lips nourished and hydrated, the Le Rose Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balms have an almost identical feel to the classic Le Rouge Perfecto. Other than the lack of eosin found in the Le Rouge Perfecto which provides a light pink stain, the Le Rouge Perfecto formulation is just as slick and cushioning. Depending on the shade, the balms have a sheer pigmentation and they feel lightly cooling on the lips thanks to the added menthol. In terms of wear, these perform as well as expected. Because of the light, balmy texture, the colors easily transfer and fade with eating and drinking. Currently, there are a total of seven shades available. 000 White Shield: This is a clear balm scattered with iridescent silver/lavender sparkles. It can be worn on its own or paired with one of the other shades for a hint of shimmer.
101 Glazed Beige: A unique color unlike the other three, "101 Glazed Beige" is a pearlescent pink beige with a formulation more in line to that of a cream lipstick. Unfortunately, the pigmentation is sheer so there are subtle settling and creasing.
202 Fearless Pink: A pretty light pink, this shade is slightly sheer. The application is a touch patchy but with a few layers, the finish becomes much more even.
303 Warming Red: My favorite of the four, "303 Warming Red" is a sheer bright red. The formulation is slightly more pigmented than the pink, resulting in a nice and even finish.
