New from Rimmel London comes a colorful range of dual-purpose liquid glitter eyeliners called the Wonder'Swipe 2-in-1 Liner to Shadow ($8.99 CAD for 1.7 ml each). Designed to be worn as a precise liner for a graphic cut-crease effect or blended all over the lid as a glitter topper, the formulation is versatile and easy to work with. I've got reviews and swatches of all 16 shades to share with you today. To read on, click......
Packaging:
The Rimmel Wonder'Swipe 2-in-1 Liner to Shadow is housed in a small plastic tube paired with a tapered sponge-brush applicator. The tip is flexible but not flimsy and is fine enough to make very thin lines.
Formulation:
Designed for use both as liquid eyeliners and liquid eyeshadows, the Wonder'Swipe has a runny, water-based formulation packed with lots of shimmer particles. Depending on the shade, the opacity varies and the shimmers are sometimes paired with a pigmented base. The formulation blends evenly with the pure shimmers but the shimmer and pigment combined shades work best as eyeliners as they appear a bit blotchy when blended. The drying time is long and because the formulation is water-based, the liners are prone to smudging and bleeding when they come in contact with humidity. Therefore, the wear time is not great. The shade selection is very impressive so I think these make fun glitter shadow toppers. However, if you are looking for smudge-proof, sweat-proof glitter eyeliners, the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner (reviewed here) is probably a better option.
001 Slay: This is a gunmetal gray with metallic silver sparkles. The formulation is smooth and opaque.
002 Insta Famous: A bright gold with pure gold shimmers, Insta Famous is buildable but also easy to blend for an even, sparkly finish.
003 Ballin': This is a pale sandy gold shimmer. Slightly sheerer but buildable, the formulation is comparable to Insta Famous.
004 So Savage: A bright copper shimmer, So Savage is very pigmented and opaque.
005 Yassss: This is a semi-sheer iridescent pearly shimmer. This one also works well as a glitter topper over a base eyeshadow.
006 My Bae: This is a rosy pink metallic sparkle. The formulation is nice and buildable.
007 Crave Me: Only available online, Crave Me is a sparkly blue shimmer with a subtle lavender duo-chrome. The formulation is rather sheer and slightly patchy.
008 Crush on You: Another online-only shade, Crush on You is a bright green scattered with iridescent green glitters. This one is also quite sheer.
009 Mega Hottie: A bright warm pink shimmer scattered in a pink pigmented base, Mega Hottie is very opaque and buildable.
010 Cool AF: This is an inky royal blue with a subtle blue sheen. The formulation is quite pigmented but also very prone to smudging and staining.
011 Don't Be Shook: A sky blue filled with sparse bright blue sparkles, Don't Be Shook is patchy and sheer so several layers are needed if you are using it as an eyeliner.
012 Kha-Ching: This is a khaki green with subtle iridescent green shimmers. The formulation is slightly sheer but buildable.
013 Front Stage: Made of dark blue shimmers suspended in a sheer black base, Front Stage is slightly uneven but buildable. This shade works best as a liner as it gets quite patchy when blended.
014 Fashun: With silver glitters suspended in a sheer black base, Fashun is essentially a gunmetal version of Front Stage.
015 Locked 'N' Loaded: With barely any shimmers, this is a khaki brown. The formulation is even and opaque.
016 Out Out: This is a dark gray-black with a subtle hint of iridescent blue shimmers. Similar to Locked 'N' Loaded, the formulation is very pigmented.
